I sat next to Delia at Scunny

Recommended Posts

Yep, couldn''t believe it when she took her seat on the back row, next to me. Forget all the crxp that goes on these boards she is a real person and a real fan. She even joined in on the chanting and kicks every ball and gives her all for this club.

Interestingly, she suggested that we need money for new players in January, so I believe she will be backing Roeder in the transfer market.

Give me Delia any day compared to these multi millionaire yanks and F1 owners she will always look after our club, yea the board will make mistakes but who doesn''t? We have got something going for us at the moment, superb team spirit and committment, great support, and once the dead wood is cleared out in Jan and a couple of replacements brought in we can carry on the momentum.

Depends how you interpret that sentence, doesn''t it!

Nice bit of PR there though, well done.

nice to read a positive post about Delia, I think she does get a hard time by some people here, I too would rather have her than some F1 multi billionaire tossers.

Delia has never been anything other than passionate in her feelings for the club and she is a very smart and lovely lady. I have always felt very sorry for the way she has been castigated on this Message Board because, although mistakes have been made, she has always done her best and that is for sure.

Pleased you had the pleasure of her company.

i personally believe f1 boss would be better, look at that ashley bloke at newcastle sometimes because its his own club its harder to make the big decisions when say he was in charge of fulham with no intrest to him (supporting wise) he would prob do a better job

Is your opinion purely based on the fact that a Liverpool supporter in the owner of Wolves?

One minute everyone is slating her and the board.. The next there is a thread with only positive stuff to say about her..

Make up your minds..

Have you possibly considered the fact that there are other FMs here other than the bunch of miserable whingers that seem to dominate the Forum?

That''s a matter of opinion. I don''t think they (the board) do half as bad a job as some suggest. But it''s easy for some to believe it when people on here moan day and night about herself and Doncaster etc.

Sure you can say it is all spin - but there is no smoke without fire.Add to that the fact that they are not doing too well considering their new financial position - doesn''t seem that having a rich boss means a lot if your club can''t take advantage of it.Delia has a fraction of the wealth any of those guys have and look at what she has achieved here. I think people forget that actually given the money she has put into the club and not expected any return on, and the things she had to work with in the first place - the club as a whole with Delia, has done very well.
Would have done even better though if someone with a bit more money was at the helm. We have done well at times but the last 3 years have been an absolute disaster and for me the feelings of despair I have felt at Carrow Road in the last few years far exceed the feelings of ecstasy I had when we got to the play off final and got promoted. It''s only now that we have started winning a few games again that I realise just how depressing it is when we keep losing all the time.

Thankfully, this board only represents a very small part of our fanbase. Although not a fan of the ''prudence'', spiel we get fed. Life could be so much worse.

I think that''s what being a football fan is all about. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Have you ever thought of much better those good times are because of the bad times?

if you''re a fan of NCFC you should want what''s best for NCFC and that includes delia - simple as.  sure she''s trying her best, and she should be thanked for her efforts - but if a super-rich fan came along on fair and reasonable terms - surely it would be in the best interests of NCFC to accept that investor.  anyone who suggests otherwise would probably be putting their loyalty to delia above their loyalty to NCFC - just as delia did when she stood by worthy for far too long.
It is all part of being a fan as you say, but 3 years of almost constant rubbish is a very long time and it does get to you after a while, especially when it could have been avoided if the board had shown a bit more ambition and a little less prudence.

I had a good friend at school.

Nice chap, tried hard, but always finished last in the class.

Couldn''t fault him - stuck his hand up, did his homework. But still finished last.

Years later, still a lovely chap - everybody''s pal, soul of the party

And that''s life. Everyone has their role.

Delia sat next to me after the Man City embarrasment in the Premier...

Squarks like a buzzard, but shouts at the ref, lives every kick and even shouts at our players when they screw up (you know - just like any fan...)

She was there for the Man U game - at the end I thought "sod it", so I gave her a kiss and said "thanks for everything". They show her on the TV clapping at the end of the game, but it always cuts as you see two leather jacketed arms come in from one side! [:)]

What you should have done, is ask for her autograph, and underneath the page that she signs, is a piece of carbon copying paper including a blank NCFC club cheque.......that''s payable to: Ms K Brady c/o ''Birmingham City Football Club'' for the grand sum of £1.25 million pounds - for the purchase of Mr M Taylor.[;)]

Y''know, you really should have.......[:P]

''The Donkster'' would have a hissy fit![:@]

Theres that word again "ambition" well if ambition means Norwich going bankrupt because we are spending money we haven''t got, then i''d rather they didn''t show ambition, if Norwich went bankrupt because we were showing "ambition" you''d all be on here moaning that the board spent money we didn''t have and they don''t know how to manage finances!!I was at Scunny away yesterday and at the final whistle, Delia walked along the front of all the fans (escorted by about 5 stewards) and she wished me and my mate a merry christmas, she has done so much for this club, and i''d rather have her supporting this club than the people on here who keep whingeing about how things are run, even though they never go to games, never go to away games, just sit and listen to it on the radio!!
Know what you mean but this is slightly different. In you analogy your friend would have been given slate and chalk, an abbicus instead of a calculater. When Delia came she didn''t bring a load of money but she did bring a steadying hand and has done a great job with what little we have had. You consider the budget on Worthingtons promotion squad and it was simply masterful.Sure we have struggled since relegation, I don''t think that is Delias fault. It was about getting the staff right.

I sit near....ish to Delia at Carra, (whilst also listening to the game on the radio, as I just love "HALLO NEEEL!") and I go to many away games. Oh, and I actually saw Delia in the refreshment area at Chelsea before our drubbin'' in the FA Cup, signing autographs and mixin'' with the Norwich fans........It was all so very exciting, and I felt very, very privileged.......although my really miserable mate said "Pah, it''s just a PR thing." But, without Delia - we would be nobody in the ''Ambitious Celebridee Shareholding Championship Club Competition''......We are so fortunate.[:D]

I LUVS HER!.......and I''ve got all her books.......(but sadly, I''m still a $h*te cook).[:(]
