No, because I haven''t read your posts.  I actually copied ''the style'' of the Drazan Muzinic post.
Ah yes, but then had to very suddenly sell him and Ashley Ward on the same day to keep the bank happy. Let''s not go there!
Yes about 2 years later Chase sold him.  I would rather have Taylor for 2 years than not at all.  We have always been a selling club.  I know the manner of the way he was sold along with Ward boiled the **** of many a city fan, me included.

However, it is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all.

For me its just a wee bit sad that although a divison lower, 13 years later we cannot afford £1m for a defender.

Yup.  You were going to add "just after we''d got £5m for Chris Sutton and £2.5m for Ruel Fox" . . .

we8wba, yes you are right, things could be a lot worse, but they could also be a lot better.

we8wba, do you go through work, life with the attitude, things could be worse?, I don''t.

Yep we got the money for Sutton and Fox, we don''t have anyone to sell to get that money now.

Chase did sell Newsome, something that infuriated me, but at least we had him for nearly 2 years.  It is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.

I posted this in reply to the thread £1m players -

"In July 1994 when we signed Newsome for £1m the record transfer fee paid by a British club was the £5m Blackburn paid us for Sutton in the same month of 1994.

The record transfer fee now (I believe) is the £30m Chelsea paid for Andriy Schevchenko.

So since we signed Newsome the record British transfer fee (paid by a British club) has increased 6 fold.

Link to progression of transfer fees here -"

For me it is sad that we can''t afford the money for Taylor, when 13 years ago we paid £1m for Newsome.
