Where does the "Barclay" come from

Despite supporting City for about 35 years it never occurred to me where the "Barclay" name came from. Only enquiring this evening because one of my kids who has grown up with the new ''sponsored'' stand names, thought it was a link to the bank. Can anyone assist?

I think you''ll find it comes from Captain Evelyn Barclay who donated the money to have the stand roofed -sometime in the 1950''s.  Up until then it was the Thorpe End.

Doubtless I will be sternly corrected if I''ve got this wrong, but I believe it commemorates Phyllis Barclay who was a Club director in the 50.60s.
