I''m surprised you support City - thought you might be off to Warsaw a couple of times a month to cheer on Legia or Polonia - or some such.
No reason that you have to be from Norwich to support City - the more the merrier I say.

I agree macd - but you know that''s not my point!

I am of polish origin, i have no problem admitting this. Miroslav Klose was born in and grew up in Poland with his German parents. he plays for Germany, or do you think he should play for Poland?

Lukasz Podolski was born in Poland, to Polish parents, from a Polish family. He grew up in Poland until his career took him to Germany and he now plays in the German national team. (Judas!)

Not everything is as cut and dried as you guys seem to think. There are situations which bring up grey areas, and i am one of those circumstances! I made my decision from a young age, due to the socialisation i received from my parents, and the place i felt was MY country and my home and the place i took a pride in saying i was from.

Back to the point, you all seem to be rooting for Hatton because you are british and so is he. I am not rooting for Mayweather because he is not British - I am supporting Mayweather as i hate Ricky Hatton. I don''t think he is intelligent, He hasn''t risen from the depths of social lows to become the best fighter, he doesn''t interview very well, and resorts to copycat tactics from long-forgotten pre-fight press conferences in a bid to intimidate (see his finger across the throat taunt in reference to Bernard Hopkins)

Quotes from his latest press conference:

“ I’m my usual witty, sarky, laugh-a-minute self . " - Isn''t there a hint of arrogance there which you all hate mayweather for?

“I knew what Mayweather was trying to do. He was trying to get that extra edge but it was not going to happen. " - Sherlock Holmes award goes to Ricky Hatton on deducing that one.

“Stuff like that is water off a duck’s back to me. But for a guy like Mayweather, who lives off confidence so much and the mind games he plays, that would have hurt him much more than it would’ve hurt me. " a juvenile, laughable playground/wrestling style finger run across the throat? i bet Mayweather is Sh***ing himself now!

“I will go away now for a coffee and a c**p and forget it." - The everest of IQ strikes again!

I don''t want this to come across as patronizing, but Hatton and the UK contingent who went to Vegas tonitght has to be proud of their showing.  We need more boxing crowds like the Hatton crowd who came in full voice.  Hatton also endeared himself to the US crowds with his post-fight interview.  While he won''t get a rematch, Hatton was fun to watch and I think the ref didn''t do Hatton any favors leading up to the TKO.

Mayweather was awesone, and it was obvious he was letting Hatton wear himself out a little in the first few rounds. However, Mayweathers sneaky use of the elbows was very cunning, and Hatton seemed to forget how to block Mayweathers shots, and almost arrogantly invited him on at times. As mentioned, the referee was a disgrace imo, Hattons style is very Roberto Duran and in the first few rounds when Ricky was looking good and building on body punches, the referee kept stopping him! It p1ssed me and the other viewers off something chronic, would of been interesting to see what shape Mayweather would of been in by the 8th himself, had the referee not stopped every attack Hatton was laying on! Absolute joke!. Fair play to Mayweather at the end though, did not expect to hear him come out with the complimentaries...

The fight made me proud to British for one reason last night......THE FANS.

I cant imagine any other nation providing support like that. You would never have guessed the Brits were the minority in the MGM.

Well done to all that went, you made me proud!
Do they show Mayweather/Hatton 24/7 in the UK?  Its a behind the scenes of the 2 fighter''s camps,
Yeah they do show the Mayweather/Hatton 24/7 over here and i have got to say that when i''m watchin it one minute i''m thinking Hatton wil win the next Mayweather then Hatton then Mayweather.  Its such a close fight that it is hard to predict.  Having said that i do believe that Hatton will win, Mayweather is a broken man with dodgy hands, elbow and back.  Watching him train is impressive because of his speed but he never seems to hit the bag with any power unlike Hatton.

Hatton is going over in typically British Bulldog style and he will win

"Hatton is going over in typically British Bulldog style"

You were partly correct.

at least you dont have to sit up til 4am to watch puffy(?) dancing and talentless singers and pay £15 or whatever the charge is for the privilege which is a ripoff when you already pay a licence fee and a monthly bill to have satellite tv!!!

I watched the Khan fight (blink and you missed it!) and then watched MOTD which was fine for a saturday nights entertainment, especially as the red scousers lost and the toon won!

The turning point was the points deduction. It gave mayweather heart and hatton got angry. In the end after that it was only going to go one way. Mayweather boxed very well but I think he got very lucky from the earlier rounds. If the ref hadn''t of kept breaking them up hatton would have been able to really punish mayweather''s body and the later rounds would have been different. Like somebody said, Mayweather got a way with a lot of elbows and shoulders to hatton''s face and I was fuming he didn''t get a point deducted for his continual ducking below the belt. But mayweather won and proved he''s the best boxer.

I got the sinking feeling when i heard the dimensions of the ring,Ricky just had to expend too much energy closing him down, and the referee breaking up every clinch at the first opportunity limited rickys best close body work in the early rounds, ricky''s frustration clearly showed at times, when he got caught as he remonstrated with the ref, then again with the points deduction.

Having said that Flloyd gave a boxing masterclass and overall did deserve to win the fight.

But overall a good contest marred by a dodgy referee,in the way so many of don kings productions have been since the late eighties.

<<I don''t want this to come across as patronizing, but Hatton and the UK

I was totally embarrassed by that sort of yobbish behaviour. Yes, Hatton''s "Barmy Army" supported their man well and outshouted Mayweather''s supporters but by this incident alone they lost all the credit they had accrued by their amusing antics. It was the same with the Croatian national anthem at Wembley and the booing there. Pathetic and disrespectful.

Have to say I thought the booing of the anthem was bad as well. As an England fan who has been in many crowds that have booed the opposition anthem at Wembley (and I must admit joined in at times against some of our more hated rivals) this may seem a bit hypocritical but that will not have endeared Hatton or his following to the Americans and I thought was pretty embarrassing when it appears that 25,000 mancs had been largely welcomed with open arms into Vegas for several days.

As for the fight we can moan about the ref all we like (and he was certainly on Hatton''s case and helpe Mayweather) but at the end of the day Mayweather was too big (I was concerned for Hatton as soon as I saw their stats and the massive reach advantage Mayweather has) and was just a cut above Hatton (who appeared to have decided to fight without a defence) in class. Could not believe fans were texting five live and complaining about it being a victory for Mayweather''s negative tactics. I would much rather watch a display like that from a truly skilled exponant of the art of boxing then some brawler pin his opponant against the ropes for the entire fight and pummel his opponant with body shots. Khan is potentially the nearest thing we''ve got to Mayweather. Lets just hope he turns out to be as good.
