Stoke AWAY

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend where to park near the Brittannia Stadium. Never sure whether to trust some of these sites...are they up to date etc.

Another thing...on the website Football Ground Guide ( http://www.footballgroundguide.co.uk/)

it says,

"It is worth bearing mind though that the Stoke fans are passionate about their club and this can make for an intimidating atmosphere, so it is best to keep colours covered around the ground".

Was this written by a girlie or do they have a point?

Been twice and not seen anything to worry about (I am a girlie by the way).

There is plenty of parking and a Harvester type place opposite the ground. In fact a group of us were in there before the game chatting with Stoke fans. Nothing to worry about and NOT like their old ground.
I know people from that part of the world, generally the only time there''s trouble with Stoke fans is when they play against Port Vale.  It seems that some of them (from both sides) are too daft to realise that it''s their council tax that pays to clean up the mess they make.

You shouldn''t have any problems with parking or the ''Naughty Fourties'' as they are pretty much finished (and idiots).

There is rarely a decent atmosphere though as the corners aren''t filled in and the ground is on a hill, so it''s always cold and windy and the noise escapes.
I can second that !  The coldest I''ve ever been in a ground, and the wind played havoc with the game too when I went, the ball spent most of it''s time at a height that would have bothered air-traffic controllers.

Just been and got my ticket. Four of us going - for 6quid, let''s get as many fans as possible there and cheer the lads on from beginning to end. It may not be the best time to be a Norwich fan but after the win on Saturday and if we can get a victory tonight things will be starting to look up!

COME ON YOU YELLOWS!

Tonight''s win has set us up nicely for the weekend, all the new boys have had a run out, Hucks back in play, Dion leading from the front and Marshall a star at the back

...can we get 2000 + down to the Brittania? ...AND can we dare for back to back away wins.

Here''s one who says YEEESSS

my advice for parking is to go on club coach etc..

they park coaches/mini buses in a pen n your not allowed out of these gates

stoke fans are vicisous and dont give two crap''s about punching you n hurling abuse

if you travel by car plenty of car parking but i advise not to wear your colours

all supporters by car are kept in the pen, until the coaches depart, meaning if only 400 travel by car only 400 of you with all stoke waiting for blood other side of gate

just dont wear colours and hope for non-heated match

it may only happen to me because wolves v stoke sort of localish

but i been there twice n happend both times

Nice advice but not all of us Canary fans live in the Norfolk area...Norwich City has a much wider appeal these days, dont you know!...and I dont mean since we beat Coventry and Blackpool.

Thankyou for your guidance...but I dont think you can overlook the local rivalry aspect. I''d like to think that we get a good welcome most places we go, (except Ipswich of course)...Where do you go to get a good reception we8wba, ...other than on here?

Probably does happen more to their local midland rivals... but Stoke are well known to take on rival sets of supporters who are known to have a firm in their following.

I have seen them have a little dig at Norwich in the past... but not to to the extent that they would turn out against for one of their midland rivals, Cardiff or a firm known to be travelling from London.

haha you try n give advice n you get slatted lol

all clubs have fans from outside the actual town/city not just norwich n manutd so yes i do know

im just telling you they keep you in a little cage pen for about 30mins, and stoke fans all wait the other side of it

you cant leave the pen even if you parked around the stadium until the coaches depart

as i said i wouldnt wear colours, or least dont show them after

as to everyone hating wolves, we must be doing something right to be hated, is it hint of jeolousy at all us being up the top?? or fact we usually do well vs you in last 10years (apart from the playoffs before im shortly reminded) i mean for us to be "hated", we hardly man utd, we hardley leeds n we hardly chelsea trying to buy the league

you may dislike us but doubt "everybody hates wolves"

I went last season, it was a night game and after the match walked straight out and back to my car, no problem. Was away back on the M6 in 10-15 minutes.

With Chadwick and Russell knowing all about Tony Pulis and Stoke I reckon we will win the game no probs on Saturday. We owe them for last years 5.0 hiding.

Anybody who was even contemplating going on Saturday should now go and get there ticket today!

I really think we can make it 3 wins out of 3 on Saturday but the boys will need all the support possible. This could be the turning point in our season.

We never used to score many, but now weve scored 5 in 2 games [:D]...........................I`d go for 1-1 on this one.

I went to the Wolves game as a neutral and they treated the away fans like it was Norwich v Ipswich, transporting them to and from the train station in big old double decker busses with a massive police escort. Near my house so I watched out of interest.

It''s not like that normally, Stokies are actually quite friendly and laid back but you get ur idiots wherever you go.

I wouldn''t worry about covering up your colours unless u walk to the stadium along the canal maybe.

Reminds me of when the Spurs were over here in Holland in the 80`s against Feyenoord chucked all the seats on the pitch, then went to the Red Light District in Amsterdam and thru all the junkies and sun-taned ones in the canals.....................[:|]...................[:$]..................[:P]...................Its true I saw it happen, looked like the Commonwealth Olympic swimming trials .....[:#]
