NegativeVibes 0 Posted November 12, 2007 Sounds like a stupid point to make but I think if we get relegated it would be good for the following reasons.A lot of the present team would leave (hopefully) allowing us to start again like Leeds have done - sucessfully. What is the point staying up only to be in the same relegation battle next season, hopefully if we got relegated Delia would finally sell up.Teams like WBA have been relegated in the past and have come back stronger.Yet on the other hand, financially we will struggle and with the present board we have we may not make the right signings to bounce back. I still think it is a risk worth taking though.

Stevie Wonder 0 Posted November 12, 2007 Yes we might walk league 1 just like we were going to walk this league after relegation from the prem.Relegation would be a disaster for this club. We would go into complete financial meltdown and never hear the end of it from the mob down the A140.Even if it meant the entire board and playing staff being replaced I would not want it. Anyway, why would all the players go? Who the bl**dy hell is going to sign any of them?
BCanary 0 Posted November 13, 2007 It took us 9 years to get out of Div 1 and back into the Premiership after relegation - survived one season and came out of it worse off. Relegation proved, both times, to be nothing short of a complete disaster. If we do go down it will be a mammoth task rebuilding and getting back up again - one that could take as long, if not longer, than what it took us to get back to the Premiership. Then if we ever were to make it back, we''d be relegation fodder for years to come on top of that as well, so no, no, no - relegation would not be a good thing. Tumbleweed 106 Posted November 13, 2007 I suppose illness is a good thing because it allows us to employ nurses, crime is a good thing because we can employ policemen and ignorance is a good thing because we can employ teachers.Just think, with no illness, crime or ignorance, many hundreds of thousands of people would be unemployed. Old Shuck 182 Posted November 13, 2007 Relegation would, no, damn it, its going to happen-it WILL be a bad thing. It might not be-Fulham were back down in this division, look at them now-ditto Reading, Portsmouth, Derby, Sunderland. Ask their fans-maybe reaching that lowest of the lows was the turning point that saw their clubs recover and get to where they are now-all have been in that division, or whatever it was called then, in recent years and have managed to turn it around and get into the Prem.Sadly, fans of clubs like Swindon and Bradford-and now Notts Forest-might also have thought that as well. The question is, if and when we go down again, has the club the infrastructure, the balls, the fighting spirit and the plan in place to get out again and move forwards. I think not, at this present time.Leeds went down and everyone and everything was against them. They have used that to their advantage and got a spirit in the club and amongst their fans (their gates are now as good as they were when they were in the Prem!) that is surely going to see them swap places with us come May.Can''t see our club doing that-they have the fans but what else?
