Huddy 0 Posted November 5, 2007 MarshallSemmy Taylor Shackall LappinChadwick Brellier Russell SmithBrown CuretonSubs: Gilks, Murray, Hartson, Martin, CroftI think Smith is the attacking option that needs to come in for Huckerby, and as another poster suggested it doesnt have to be in a flat 4-4-2, smith could play in the hole. Though i feel he would do a job on the left. Hartson should be left on the bench as an impact player for the second half, his performance yesterday was top notch for half an hour, but much more and he struggles. Therefore starting with Brown or Strihvka would be my choice.

Jules 0 Posted November 5, 2007 Do you guys think Hartson will start? I''m not sure he''ll last 90 mins. Won''t Roeder have him on the bench and bring him on as necessary? But then if Dion''s injured and he does that who will start up front with Cureton? A recall for Brown?

I think I''d be tempted on seeing how Dave the striker got on for the first 60 - Hartson is gonna be more effective against defenders that have already played 60 mins than he would starting. 1st Wizard 0 Posted November 5, 2007 I didnt actually mean to leave Hartson out, I meant to put him on the bench. All things considered I think Brown will start as he will have more energy. Hartson will be a good option of the bench again for the last 20 minutes..

I think a more likely possibility is that he knows John Hartsons game better. He''ll probably continue to pick players he knows more about until he''s had more time to get to know his squad. SM 0 Posted November 5, 2007 Marshall Otsemobor Taylor Shackell LappinChadwick Brellier Russell SmithBrown Cureton Subs: Gilks, Murray, Spillane, Croft, Hartson. I was thinking about playing Murray at the back with Taylor, but decided to give Shackell another chance. I put Bown on because although he doesn''t score many goals, he will hold the ball if Watford are pressuring us. Hartson and Croft should come on after about 60mins so they can freshen things up and maybe impact the game.

Tumbleweed 106 Posted November 6, 2007 Would it be better to start with Hartson and get ahead to put pressure on Watford or would we get nervous should we get a lead, then try to defend, sit too deep and then risk the sucker punch. Or, do we try to keep it tight, nick a goal with what we have and use Hartson as an impact player? The problem with the latter is that again we could be chasing the game- would Curo have missed those chances at 1-0 up?On balance I''d start with Hartson and try to get ahead, then use Brown to hold the ball up in the second half and drop slightly deeper if we are ahead. After Sunday I''ll almost be disappointed with a draw but I know that a point would still be good tonight as Roeder and Clark have still had virtually no time to work with the team properly yet.
