Steelsilver 0 Posted October 25, 2007 According to an Independent newspaper in Zimbabwe, Bruce Grobbelaar is being linked with the Norwich F.C vacancy. Grobbelaar moved back to South Africa where he coached a number of teams with various degrees of success. He managed Seven Stars in 1999 and took the team from the relegation zone to finish fourth in the final league table. In 2001 he took over struggling Hellenic. He twice previously was briefly player-manager of Zimbabwe''s national team. Bruce returned to England however in 2000 to play in a replay of the 1986 FA cup final against Everton for the Marina Dalglish Appeal, a charity for Cancer research set up by former team-mate and manager Kenny Dalglish and his wife and cancer survivor Marina. Liverpool won the match 1-0.Grobbelaar played in the Sky One''s The Match in 2004 and The Match 3 in 2006, keeping a clean sheet in both games. He can also be seen representing the Liverpool old boys. He will often play to the crowd ending up in the opposition''s goal area to score, or, at least, get a shot in.According to Mick Jacobson, a close friend of Grobbelaar and chairman of Glasshoughton Welfare F.C.near Castleford, West Yorkshire, England. who Bruce Grobbelaar helped raise cash for their cash strapped club, he spoke with Bruce about helping the club again. However he says, Bruce has intentions of managing in England and is awaiting the outcome of his application for the current Norwich F.C managerial vancancy in which he was interviewed for on Wednesday. my thoughts on this...---would be something different
Tom NCFC 0 Posted October 25, 2007 He''s coached Supersport United FC (of South Africa) and the Zimbabwian National team, I hardly call that experience.........so no, if we employ Grobbelaar, we may as well employ Donald Duck as his assistant

renegade tootsie 0 Posted October 25, 2007 If this is true then my question is why the hell the board bothered wasting valuable time interviewing such an obvious non-starter. My god I would not trust Doncaster to interview for saturday girls in tesco.
