Jewell

Recommended Posts

Why the fascination with Paul Jewell and why do many want him? What would be the upside and what would be the downside? If and it’s a BIG IF he came just how long would he stay? Not long I think. If he is so highly regarded do you not think he would be off to the premier very quickly and don’t you think that the lasting memory of what he has achieved at Wigan would be at risk if he joined us with no money and very little quality to build into a winning team. He would be no more loyal to the Canary cause than Megson has been at Leicester.

Of course if we had the money and could convince him to sign a four year deal then the compensation we may receive if he left would be greater than the sale of most of our current players.

Get over it and move on it wont be Jewell! Debate the possible not the pipe dreams.

Even getting Jewell for the short term would be incredable, even if its for just two games! Who cares if it would only be short time? He would almost certainly prevent us going down. He would restore confidence on the pitch and get the players playing again. And when he leaves at least the club would have progressed from the crap that we are playing at the moment. You''re right, it is highly unlikely that he would come to Carrow Road given his credentials, but its certainly not a pipe dream. He is not a manager who relies on pots of money to build his teams. Thats his style and thats what makes him so highly regarded in the game.We have to look for the short term solution at the moment and Jewell is the best candidate avaliable. Lets never ever rule him out.

nt think jewell would do very wellhe cant handle pressurewhen he was at bradford, they had just fallen through the floor so expectation was low,he left wigan at the end of the season due to the pressure of it.and, he flopped at sheffield wednesday, in a pressure situationdo the fans have to lower their expectations before he would accept?

I see your point........given his credentials he would be under great pressure at Carrow Road. But saying that, 90% of managers face this kind of presure each and everyday of the week. Dont think expectations are an issue really. We can''t rule out class because they''re too good for our club!

He left Wigan because he just fancied a break (plus he had health concerns, all be it nothing major). He''s big enough and experienced enough to deal with it. As for Bradford and SW, I always rate a manager on his last/current job (they get better through experience believe it or not) and Jewell did incredible things at Wigan.............with hardly any cash.

He left Bradford just before the administrators were called in...after keeping them up in the premier league despite expectations

He joined Sheffield Wednesday just before the administrators were called in...

He left Wigan for a break from football after exceeding expectations with them....

He might join Norwich (delete as applicable) just before A. the administrators are called B. we are relegated to League 1
