Just read in the news of the world that jim duffy has been told by the board that the managers job is there for the taking and he will seal the deal if we pick up results in the next 2 games. great as if losing 3-1 to bristol city wasnt enough to show us

Yep, you are right. Heard again today that the powers that be want to give duffy every chance, and are saying again that they do not want to rock the boat too much. Continuity seems be their key word at the moment. There are a couple of disenting voices still but the duffy fans hold the power. They apparently said that they were encouraged by things they saw on the pitch yesturday.

So daft Delia and co were encouraged by our manager playing players out of position and starting with others who were quite clearly out of their depth(Jarvis).  Continuity is ok if you are successful and winning games but to continue in the same vain will mean we will carry on losing games. If this is true and Duffy is the boards preferred option and is appointed this will be the last season I will have a season ticket until the hierarchy at the club has changed. At least Duffy hasn''t got a hope in hell of winning the next 2 games so they can''t give him the job on the strength of that.

just thought i''d repaste my ''go home dufferman'' post from last night, that no one replied to into this thread.  a day on - still feel the same.  go before you ruin my beloved club, and if the board truly believe you are the man - they should go follow - PDQ.

right.  we were tosh after playing with this formation - but horribly

Worthington and Grant were also both guilty of waiting too long before making the changes that fans could see were needed.

Huckerby is and has always been strongest down the left - end of. I can''t think of a single occasion when he has played on the right in a winning side.

How many more goals are we going to concede down our left flank?

Wednesday, Cardiff & Brizzel City (and probably others I can''t think of now) all waltzed down this wing to either score or cross for goals.

If Duffy is being considered for the job then I hope yesterday proved helpful to the board.

If this is true and a direct quote from your source Johno, please ask them from me to sit the Duffy fans down and show them the bit in the paper where it says we are SECOND from bottom of the league, where we played well for at best 20 mins (the game is 90 mins Delia and Michael), where a team who had just been promoted and hadn''t a fraction of our resources outplayed us and won easily. I don''t really blame Duffy. But he''s not the answer, the answer is for the board to take a long hard look at themselves, what they really want for this club and then do something positive. I would like to know what encouraged them on the pitch yesterday......really I would.

I very much hope that this rumour about most of the board being keen on Duffo is no more than paper talk. If not, you have to question their sanity. I hadn''t realised that Mr Duffer was already responsible for 3 relegations - that tells me enough about his competence as a football manager to say; steer well clear. Maybe our excellent board of directors hope it''s going to be a case of fourth time lucky! If they really are that strapped for cash that they want somebody on the cheap then surely Fleck would be a better bet.

But teh story is right - the job was his for the taking - possession is 9/10th etc and had he gone unbeaten for 3/4 games and won some he would have been a shoe in;  however his subs have to be far better judged than those on sat!

I thought his ''deputy in the dugout'' a fast tracker from escorting match sponsors around our stadium and various nosh parlours, (including a brief and fleeting glimpse of our minuscule trophy cabinet) then be rapidly and internally appointed as assistant to Jimbo Duffy - a certain ''Mr B Gunn''......should be highly commended on displaying exceptional paper shuffling ability, having a pre-match  kick about with the 1st team gang - and bringing the ''WonTonWelshman'' to Carra.

We may as well have kept with Grant if we want duffy to replace him. When Drury went off injured on Saturday any good manager would have moved lappin to left back, moved hucks to the left where hes best and brought croft on on the right. Murray and Shax were looking comfortable in the centre of defence and imo you should never change your centre backs unless you have to. Plus, Murray isnt a great left back to say the least so why on earth put him there? We were playing really well up until that point so why did Duffy change so much? If he brought Croft on, then i believe we would have went on to win the game.
