Doncaters contradiction!

Recommended Posts

His column states the following:the financial climate will remain very challenging - as it will for 23 other clubs as well.”Grant only last week revealed his difficulties in trying to attract reinforcements.“I

went for a player who has played probably two first team games -

£12,000 a week, £300,000 loan fee until Christmas,” he said. “That is

what I am saying you are up against. We are all impatient for success,

but the simple truth is that we can''t match the money that some clubs

are offering players in wages. Therefore it is not all 23 Clubs, you clearly state you cant compete with some!! By the way where is this player??????????????Pathetic!! How many are Fowler and Hasselbaink going to score this season??? That is Ambition and a true effort to get to the Premiership they deserve success. Your policies and strategy deserve and are producing one thing pure and simple FAILURE!!

Rubbish just because we can''t match some clubs financially doesn''t mean that they aren''t stuggling as well as us. He hasn''t contradicted himself at all

oh and also hasselbaink and fowler have class but have lost their legs - they''re too old and will certainly not make the top goal scoring charts at the end of the season!
Didn''t Doncaster also say that any money received for Earnshaw and Etuhu would go to the manager for new players yet in todays paper says we have a profit on player trading over the summer of £2.6 million. Sorry but I can no longer believe what this man says.
Ridgeman,

Spot on and it is not just this season when he has made this remark. The accounts make it clear that we have made significant profits on players for the last couple of years. He probbaly meant to say that any profits on player transfers will be spend on refurbishing offices!! However, does anybody in the media or indeed any shareholders take him to task?? it doesnt seem so. Perhaps any poster on here attending can raise this at the at the forthcoming AGM.

What actual qualifications does he have< to being involved at the level he is ? He''s in the same boat and PG, both out of thier depth with the icebeg of a lower division on the horizon !!

If Fowler and JFH get Cardiff into the Prem. who cares if they are too old next season?  They''ll be up with the big boys and into the money... the world at their feet. Fifty million plus squid would wipe out our debt and leave a handsome sum for a proper rebuild. That''s ambition for you...........

More splodge from the spin-master covering up for the appalling attitude of the club and it''s Board. It really does make you weep how our chance was so pathetically squandered.

Someone on wotb asked him about the surplus on transfers, he said that it has to pay wages and agents fees etc but conveniently forgets that we have released as many players as we have bought in therefore saving money on their wages. Earnie, Safri and Etuhu were obviously big earners as well.

I thought this would be the contradiction too.

So the 2.6 mill they''ve banked is clearly going to be used to balance the books.

Disgusting!!! And not what was promised at all.

The Club debt may have gone down last season according to Doomcaster but it increased by 2 mill when the Turners came on board. That money which was used to assure us that no players needed to be sold is simply another debt which can be used to balance the books this year but will eventually need repaid. So we''re back up to 20 million give or take a few shillings.

Kevin Keegan got Newcastle promoted 10 or so years ago by building a team for one purpose- promotion, built largely on experienced pros brought in for one job only. When they got promoted he let many of them go and created a team to stay there. Cluck is right- you get people in who are proven performers, getting out of this league isn''t about building, its a dirty nasty job away to places like Hull, Blackpool and Scunthorpe on wet Tuesdays when that bedrock of experience grinds you out a scratchy 1-0 win. Build the youth team behind the scenes but the first team squad has one job. Period.

If they get them to the Premiership. Cardiff are only 2 points clear of relegation at the moment..[;)]

If they don''t then they have spent a fair amount of cash on two players who could become of no value to them on or off the pitch. We could end up with a young English striker and a young Czech striker banging them in for fun with a years experience in the Championship, ready for our promotion push next season. Risky bets, or gradual investment in a team, both can work, and both can fail.
