Crafty Canary 547 Posted September 29, 2007 I don''t blame Peter Grant. I blame the board for putting a complete novice in a situation where he sinks because he''s out of his depth. Let''s remember they described the appointment as that of a ''winner''. In our board''s view winning = cheap. What kind of incompetence is it that doesn''t spend sensible money on the team when we were promoted, ''ambition with prudence'' and doesn''t use the Premiership windfall to slash the club''s debt instead. No, our bunch of ''li''l old Naarwich'' buffoons instead piss £34 million of Premiership dosh up the wallt (including parachute payments) and leave us with the debt intact and a useless team. Delia may know how to cook a superb meal but she hasn''t got a clue about how to run a football club and has surrounded herself with similar duffers.Worthless got the boot for getting only 11 points from 10 games at the start of last season. Grant needs 4 points from the next 6 just to match Worthless. If he doesn''t will they act? Will they do the honourable thing and resign? Don''t hold your breath on either count!! Alex Moss 2,167 Posted September 30, 2007 I can appreciate that PG has had a nightmare with squad injuries, but do feel it''s time for him to go. It''s not working out for him. I disagree we should ''get rid of the lot'' though, there are definately good players in the squad, and a better manager would get more favourable results out of them i''m sure. E I E I E I O 0 Posted September 30, 2007 He has had no money whatsoever!! In fact we have yet again made a profit from player dealings! He got most on the free! What a ridiculous comment!! No manager can compete given the state of our squad and the boards constant draining of funds from the football side of the business. We have league 1 written all over us! The Judge 0 Posted September 30, 2007 I do feel his days are numbered - however very little will change without Smith, Munby, Doncaster etc going aswell. The board is getting what it deserves through years of poor decisions and lack of investment in the team. We need a fundamental change of strategy to move forwards again - that will only come with a change of personel at the top.Delia - do what is best for the club and its supporters and go. ricardo 8,034 Posted September 30, 2007 Both should hang their heads in shame.Delia and MWJ are no doubt decent people who want the club to do well if for no other reason than they are major shareholders. However they should take a good look back over their period in charge and they will see that it has mostly been a failure. They have had long enough to get it right. They should do the decent thing and walk away. If that means we will go bust without their backing then so be it. I would rather get relegated than suffer any more years of this gutless administration.
kdncfc 0 Posted September 30, 2007 Yep, get rid of the whole lot, none of them have got a clue. Knowing our board if they did get rid of Grant they''d appoint a complete no hoper of a manager, they''ve already ruined this club enough and shouldn''t be given the opportunity to take us even more into the brown stuff. Mello Yello 2,572 Posted September 30, 2007 They''ll be a sacrificial scapegoat, and it won''t be any members of our incumbent and most commendable Directorship. Then they''ll apportion blame to the fans and their pathetic attitude and negative vibes, and how the major share-holders are dreadfully upset with the vitriol and venom that spews forth from the teenyweeny minority and truly ungrateful untrue support.Neil Doncaster will come out with some ''lawyerpatronisingspinspeak'' with a plethora of numbers and equations.....and probably mention ''Look what happened to Leeds!'' "Yadda Yadda squeak mumble yawn guff huff puff........terminal boredom."They''ll ride the storm and just ignore our concerns......which is what they''ve done for the last few years. But hey, they''re successful people and they didn''t get to where they are today by being indecisive and clueless........but only on Saturdays, the odd Sunday and occasionally midweek.Onwards and across a bit with Prunes and ham bits on and keep the filth.....folks. Grant the chancer has had his chance...but I fear that just like Worthington before him he will wait until he is pushed so as to guarantee his pay out. Can''t stand the bloke and never wanted him here....but he would be a fool to walk and so get Smith and Co. out of jail....yet again. As for those who employed him in the first place?......I feel I need say nothing more. 0ridgemanddMMyyyy0Falseen-USTrue 0 Posted September 30, 2007 I feel Doncaster must accept much of the blame for our current predicament he is the one who has allowed contracts with escape clauses at ridiculous prices to be signed. He keeps bleating on about the lack of parachute payments when everyone knew they would only be there for two years so we should have been more than ready for what was coming. He presided over the Worthington reign for far to long. Sorry but he must shoulder most of the blame after all he is on around £180K a year and every other Chief Executive in a failing business gets the flak .Why hasn''t he insisted on a new Coach to help Grant who is clearly struggling all he will do is come out with more tales of woe as to why this club is not moving forward. If he thinks this year is tough wait until next year when many will not renew their season tickets. Old Shuck 291 Posted September 30, 2007 Even if they WANT to "go", they can''t until someone puts up the money for their shares. Not that simple I''m afraid, by the same token, they can''t be sacked, neither can we force their removal!I am sure the Turners are biding their time and will become majority shareholders sooner, rather than later now. They have the capital, they support the club, they are Norfolk based-in effect, they tick all of Delia''s boxes. And they are probably the only alternative-no one else has shown an interest, so its not as if we can simply say "get investment" and wait for it to happen that way. MarshallStrihavkaCuretonThats £2.5 Million, and whehter we think these signings are good or not hwe HAS had that money. He''s also spent money on other players during his year in charge as well, and he has a big wage bill, just look at the amount of pro''s we have.It is his squad now, his players, so the reason no manager could compete with that squad is GRANTS fault.Yes, we havent spend all the money coming in, but with the finances as basd as they appear to be, any business minded, sensible person can see that with £20 Million worth of debt we cant throw money around like confetti. Yet still we should be able to compete, because there are plenty of sides who are doing so in the championship who have a) also lost good players and b) havent spent any money at all on building squads. They have good managers who have put together a combination of bargain basement signmings.

Reggie Strayshun 0 Posted September 30, 2007 Much as I despair of the complete dog''s breakfast that MWJ,Delia,Munby,Doomcaster and their henchmen have made of running(sic) this once great club, sadly it is not really pragmatic to talk in terms of "Sack the Board".No one has taken up their generous offer of buying their share holding,so we can only come to the conclusion that everyone available out there sees NCFC as a basket case. And they''d be right. So the reality comes down to the management.I don''t buy into this "feel sorry for PG " stuff. He knew what he was letting himself in for when he came. That the squad was hopeless. That the parachute payments were up.That the Boardroom was a Footy Knowledge-Free Zone.He came in 12 mths ago with a lot of bluster. He talked the talk, but can''t walk the walk.He should go.
