Macca 0 Posted October 1, 2007 John Gregory bites the dust after a poor start.Nice to see a proactive board, dealing with a situation before its too late.I hope a new manager isn''t installed before they meet us, last thing we want is a humilation from a poor team looking to impress a new manager. Indy_Bones 441 Posted October 1, 2007 I suppose having the new financial backing from Briatore and Ecclestone had no influence on this decision?Briatore clearly wants to bring an italian manager in, with Vialli looking like the hot tip. It''s far easier to choose to replace a manager or players when you more than enough money available to fund the decision. Look at the whole Mourinho debacle, how many other clubs could afford to pay out £25 million in compensation!Their new look board may be proactive, but having the resources to be able to be so proactive must not be overlooked. YellowRoad 0 Posted October 1, 2007 Well if Jackie Stewart ''The flying Scot'' had bought Q.P.R., instead of Bernie & Flavio ........ Peter Grant would have been very very high on his wish-list .... what a shame !
Macca 0 Posted October 1, 2007 If they were going to sack him anyway, losing 5-1 & being near the foot of the table makes it a very easy choice, sacking a manager shouldn''t be soley a money issue, it will cost us more if we go down, & unfortunately all signals so far point that way...
