Yes - the same person who fought tooth and nail to appoint Hamilton (twice) and then to try and keep him. The same person who reeled  off every excuse imaginable as the Worthy reign imploded.

Sorry, but your Goddess Delia ''knows nothing about football'' (not my words but her very own when interviewed back in 1996 when she joined the Board).  Pity she didn''t look beyond the verbal ''passion'' that PG came out with at that fateful interview!

These have been my views for a long time now although, having said that, I''m not convincd that sacking PG now would serve any purpose. Actually when you look at his entire record since joining (league matches) it is not as bad as some would make out:

Played 42 - Won 15, Drawn 7, Lost 20 - Points 52

Over a 46 game season that would roughly equate to approx. 59 points so a relatively comfortable midtable position. 

What was awful today was the appalling lack of any quality and belief from the players it seems.

To take this a bit further, you will remember that Grant was actually first acquired by City as a player in 1997 under Smith''s regime.

Thus, Smith must have approved this purchase at that time.

His playing contract was cancelled one year early by City with Smith''s approval in 1999 after he expressed a wish to go into coaching. City also helped him to search for a coaching job.

One suspects that the relationship started well before his 2006 interview.

In fact, if memory serves me correctly, he was actually invited ''by the club'' to apply for the City manager''s job in 2006.

Funny how so many fans seem to be conviently forgetting the role Dave Stringer had in the appointment.

He was brought in to give a strong football related view, and he felt that Grant was an excellent option.

Delia and co may not have the footballing nous to make a good judgement, Stringer however is a different kettle of fish. Vastly experienced, had a great run as manager, and is NCFC to the bone. Why aren''t people questioning his input instead of just slating the board?

After all, why bring in someone with experience and specialist knowledge if you''re not going to listen to their advice? Delia and the board that Grant was good, Stringer seconded this opinion.

If you want to slate the decision that''s completely your choice, but at least direct the abuse fairly to ALL those involved in it, as against a figurehead who''s seen as an easy target.

Was Dave Stringer ever quoted or interviewed on the matter. Or were his ''opinion'' and ''contribution'' reported via the club''s PR machinery? Just asking.
