Carling Cup 3rd Round - Wednesday October 26, 2005

Birmingham City 2, Norwich City 1

Norwich City regained some self respect at St Andrew''s - despite slipping to a third away defeat in the space of just nine days.

The Canaries bounced back from a nightmare start to give their Premiership opponents a real scare in front of a near-capacity crowd and in the end it took a wonder goal from Chelsea midfielder Jiri Jarosik to see them off. An entertaining Carling Cup tie appeared to be heading for extra time when the giant Czech stepped forward from midfield and blasted home a 35-yard drive past Robert Green to break the hearts of the brave visitors.

Sat Oct 22Queens Park Rangers

The Burnley game was the following season (if you''re referring to the debacle in front of the Sky cameras that led to Worthy''s sacking) and one year ago this weekend...

They were both Carling cup matches which we lost to premiership opposition. That''s where the similarity ends. Last nights performance was much better than the Birmingham game.

Having said that the outcome was the same and neither have any bearing on the next league game. If we beat Sheffield Wed this time then people will start to believe a corner may have been turned. If we lose then the protests will certainly gather pace.

I agree although some people on here will continue to use a negative approach when discussing all matters related to NCFC
