Republic of Ireland U-19 hitman heading for Easter Road

Hibs boss John Collins is set to snap up freed Norwich City youngster Kurtis Byrne, after the player negotiated his release from the Carrow Road club.

Byrne, 19, played as a trialist in Hibs U19''s 3-1 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle and impressed the Hibs boss by scoring a goal in the win.

Hibs won''t have to pay a penny for the player, as he will sign under freedom of contract.

The striker is the son of former Celtic player Paul Byrne and it seems he is set to follow his father in to Scottish football.

Hibs boss JC speaking about the youngster said:

"He''s a good quality player with potential and at 6ft tall, he''s a good size for a young boy."
