RobertMack 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Just want to gauge current opinion on Luke Chadwick as from other posts as usual it appears very polarised. Have people seen him play in the past, can we expect anything more?
lobster catcher 0 Posted September 3, 2007 very average player, man utd let him go,stoke let him go,we buy him says it all really
macdougalls perm 0 Posted September 3, 2007 I thought he was really good the times I saw him playing for Man U, and he seemed to be popular at Stoke, gave us a proper mauling last season (not that that was difficult[:)]) - I think there is a lot more to come. O.T.B.C 1 Posted September 3, 2007
very average player, man utd let him go,stoke let him go,we buy him says it all really
Not being argumentive but this is the Pinkun but just because Manyoo let him go and Stoke sold him does not make anybody average, I don''t think that Stoke wanted him to leave but due to his family commitments he wanted to come to Norwich, not too sure if this is a good enough reason alone to sign for us. You may think that he is average but your comments are not true mate, personally I think he is slightly more than average, not great but a handy championship player and I thought he played ok on Saturday, like I said in another post when he was subbed the team looked out of shape. Dr. Ink 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Good and Ugly!Stoke did OK last year with Chadders and Russel in the team. They have both been good IMO.
tank 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Keeps cutting in! Should use the wings more and get more crosses in to the box!!!! But i think he could be alot better!!!
AJ 1,359 Posted September 3, 2007 Chadwick is a central player, he looks to come inside, and has always done that, he is not a wide man.He likes to play in the gap behind the front two, and does well there too.I thought he was our man of the match on saturday. BigPhil 0 Posted September 3, 2007
very average player, man utd let him go,stoke let him go,we buy him says it all really
Stoke only let him go as Chadwick was home sick. He was generally 1st choice in a good stoke team. The guy does seem lighweight against opposition players and can get knocked off the ball easily. The guy does get into good positions in front of the midfield though especially on the break and does seem to add some badly needed flair into the team. The only problem is if we can get him into some space, which in the championship can be a bit of a luxury. Its just about getting the balance right, which is a problem at the moment.Credit to him though for the work he put in on Sat, seemed to be everywhere in the 1st half. Bury Green 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Couldn’t give a monkies what he looks like, lets face it Fleck was no oil painting. That said there was a bloke sat behind me on Saturday who did nothing other than moan and bitch about the bloke each and every time he got the ball which to me at lest seem utterly mindless. Chadwick does at least seem to have a bit of class whilst on the ball and to be stretchered off at that foul and repugnant dump on his debut earns him plenty of credit on its own in my book. On the Sutch scale of crappiness where 10 is a full on Daryl and 0 is a Chris Sutton I’d put Chadwick on about 5 ½, fractionally below average but not deserving of much stick. Unlike Daryl ;-)
Citizen Journalist Foghorn 0 Posted September 4, 2007 I was surprised how many times he dallied on the ball and was brushed off it really easily, apart from that I think he looked good. He appears to have lost any pace he may have had, perhaps due to his injuries.
ZLF 335 Posted September 4, 2007 Too soon to tell; thought he got through a lot of work in the first half and looked good going forward without ever quite being as dangerous as I would want - for me he was the pick of the midfielders first half; like everyone else his performance was very poor in the second half. You are right about the dallying CFJ, but for me that was more about a lack of support from midfield to give an option to pass too, with Brown marked and Cureton too static. Decent champs player who gives us options in the middle, which we have missed over the last couple of season. Will have better and worse games than this one. Hairy Canary 754 Posted September 4, 2007 He''s a good addition to the squad IMO. I''ve always felt he was a decent player when he appeared here for other teams, cetainly seen a lot worse. He has a certain style where he cuts in and looks for the through ball to the strikers which can be a good assest. The main downside for me is his stamina as he seems to visably tire in the second half. Seems like he''s one of those players that divides opinion - one of my mates thinks he''s total crap - but personally I''m happy to have him here.
San Miguel 0 Posted September 4, 2007 He did ok when we were playing well on Saturday, but for the other hour I was not impressed. It''s not just the constant cutting in but the lack of communication - Otsemobor never knew whether to run on past him for a pass or stay back. Russell & Brellier hardly had any contact with him either. Distinct lack of pace as well which we really needed on Saturday.and lets be honest, he does look like a over-grown schoolboy - the mix of a stupid haircut, a very baggy shirt where the sleeves go about half way between the elbow and wrist, and the goofy run aren''t a good look! i expect him to turn up with NHS glasses with a plaster in the corner next! blesshere''s hoping he can improve... RobertMack 0 Posted September 4, 2007 Thanks for the replies, it seems that in general people feel that he will be able to do a job for us this year and in this league so will cut him some slack. Reading many of the comments though a thought came to me as there are many people constantly posting comments about keeping the faith and promotion aspirations, in what way shape or form do people really feel that we would be fit for the prem from current situation. I mean oes anyone really think they can name at least three players we have who could step up a level?
