Earnshaw to Charlton

Recommended Posts

From Sporting life website:

Derby''s record signing Robert Earnshaw is reportedly set to quit the club and join Charlton - barely two months after arriving at Pride Park. Earnshaw joined Derby from Norwich at the end of June in a club-record £3.5million deal, but according to Plymouth Argyle manager Ian Holloway the 26-year-old is set to move to Charlton before Friday''s transfer deadline. Asked about late transfer business on Argyle''s official website, Holloway said: "There''s already one! Earnshaw''s gone from Derby - already - to Charlton, which seems ludicrous to me."

Apparently Derby are looking to off-load Earnie to release funds for Nugent. After the way he and his agent engineered his cut-price transfer to the premiership, I would take a lot of pleasure to see him dumped back in the Championship.

Karma!!

Sounds about right - would explain both Ernie and Nugents few appearances also...  both being given a slight check by the clubs as to whether they are up to it.

Nice little earner all round. Two lots of signing on/agents fees etc. Nice work if you can get it!!

Loyalty? Ambition? The quick buck wins every time.

Nice little earner earnie!!

No sell on clause. Because of the £3.5M clause in Earnie''s contract we are unable to negotiate anything with the buying club - once the clause is activated we can do bugger all!!! It is the same with Etuhu.

I hope this transfer doesn''t go though. I''d love to see Earnshaw eat his words during a season of bench warming!

I read somewhere that Derby had denied any interest in Nugent with the quote "I am not sure who is more surprised by this news, me or David Nugent."

. . . and to minimise the risk of injuries which could jeopardise a move . . .
