Road to Nowhere 0 Posted August 23, 2007 According to BBC Sport, Ian Murray from Rangers has signed a one year deal.
Crazy Eddie 0 Posted August 23, 2007 And in the same article it states we haven''t paid a fee, dispite him having a yr left to run on his contract.
Yellow Hotrod 0 Posted August 23, 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/norwich/6960406.stmBBC carrying the story that Scottish International Ian Murray has signed on a 1 year deal and we''ve paid nowt for him! Seemingly he can play LB, CB, LM or CM. Solid although lacking flair reports suggest. Sounds like excellent cover for our mini injury crisis!
Big Yellow 0 Posted August 23, 2007 Good news! Defensive cover/competition at last, and another southpaw too!
Citizen Journalist Foghorn 0 Posted August 23, 2007 Looks a good signing to me!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_MurrayI think the one year deal is because he had Reactive Athritus which can be a recurring thing. Sounds quite nasty.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reactive_arthritis
NCFC_Chris 0 Posted August 23, 2007 good news, as Grant says he is a good player who can play at left back or central midfield, 2 areas we''re short on depth
Freeza 0 Posted August 23, 2007 Seems a good, intellegent signing by Grant. Should enhance our squad strength greatly BUT I still want an out and out centre-back brought in.
mbncfc 1 Posted August 23, 2007 He sounds most comfortable at centre-back, which was apparently the case at Hibs.On paper (having not seen him play) this seems an excellent signing. Let''s see how it works out on grass.
Unlucky Fried Kitten 0 Posted August 23, 2007 I bet he cost a mint (Murray, geddit??) Seriously, though, it''s good to see we have brought another able body in.

Whoever did it was remarkably quick with their editing and it is quite professionally done. I don''t very often look at wikipedia as you cannot trust its information for accuracy. The whole trouble with wikipedia, of course, is that anybody can edit it. Which is ok until people decide they would like to lark around and have a laugh by making some fabricated, rogue entry. It can never be relied on 100% unfortunately.
lobster catcher 0 Posted August 23, 2007 Was hibs captain, also played for scotland can''t be a bad player can he.At least we now have centre backs who are going to be fighting for their places.Thumbs up from me

Michael Starr 519 Posted August 23, 2007 ex-Hibs and Scotland U21 captain. "No thrills professional versatile defender". Free transfer?Well done Mr Grant and backroom staff... on paper, this could be a fantastic "swoop".We still need at least another defender in however... ZLF 274 Posted August 23, 2007 Increased competition, cover and versatility for relatively little cost - should be at least a decent addition to the squad, but could be a scoop. Dont know enough to be too excited but he seems to fit the bill.
One Flew Over... 33 Posted August 23, 2007 Looks like the oft used phrase "there were 11 captains on the pitch" could be coming true!Russell - ex-Stoke captainShackell - current captain, Drury - ex captainMurray - ex Hibs CaptainSurely Dublin has been captain somewhere? Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 1,023 Posted August 23, 2007 Good bit of business by the club, youngish, international, and can play in a variety of positions. We will soon be bidding to play in the Scottish Prem!![:D] (For those of you with a thin skin, the final comment was made tongue in cheek)
USA Canary 7 Posted August 23, 2007 Does anyone know what his shirt number will be? If he gets the no 5 shirt it may mean we won''t be after another centre half... do you think?
Norwich R Us 59 Posted August 23, 2007 On paper this looks a real decent transfer for us.A little concern though... my housemate is a rangers fan and says he is unproven since a bad spell of injuries. This seems to reflect in the 1 year contract reportedly offered...I was just wondering if anyone knows the immediate state of his fitness? Has he completed pre-season/had any match time yet? Would he be an option for saturday?
Steve H 0 Posted August 23, 2007 Sounds like a good signing. 6ft, ex-captain, International standard and a CB!!!!Might be able to provide the Leadership that we have lacked since Malky. Let''s face it of all the signings we''ve made since promotion only Dion has been able to provide any leadership and he''s not exactly got much left in the tank now.
