Syteanric 1 Posted August 26, 2007
Linked with a move to Charlton today in the Sunday Mirror .
if its in the Mirror then it must be true! I wouldnt wipe my A**e with that "news"paper people go on about the number of goals Earnie got from starts in the prem with WBA but his actual record with them over nearly 2 seasons was poor... 14 goals in over 50 games in all competitions (including sub) wasnt it? Either way, he was a mercenary from day one... his clause meant he had no loyalty to us and i for one hope he gets fat in the Derby Reservesjas :)
Time to go Delia 0 Posted August 26, 2007 Earnies record in the prem may not be anything special but hes still a class above anything we have up front now , as for loyalty do you really think all these jocks Grant is signing give a stuff about Norwich City , its a job nothing more nothing less. I take your point on Gallacher, though to an extent he made everyone aware by telling the media that Grant had certain views on him (he was too short or not good enough,) and I don''t actually recall Grant ever saying a bad word about him personally in public. Grant explained about Safri as he didn''t want Safri bad mouthing the club after he left (he mentioned this in an interview,) he was effectively protecting the club, reporters picked up on the fact that Safri missed training and the team photo that day and asked him about it - if he should be accused of anything in this circumstance it is inexperience as a manager but I can understand why he did it - if Safri wasn''t giving 100% why should Grant protect him and run the risk ofa) Safri leaving and bad mouthing the club and b) having fans asking why he is selling a good player.Maybe Grant is a little inexperienced as I said but I don''t think he can be critisised for alienating players in public apart from Safri where he had good reason. And also this is why closeing Colney to the public was a good idea - to stop the local media getting involved as much
