Jarroldstander 0 Posted August 28, 2007 Cant you just listen on the bbc radio norfolk website for free?
Skippy 0 Posted August 28, 2007 Unfortunately no as the Football league have sold their soul! Radio Norfolk is not available online during league matches due to ''media licensing restrictions''I had a Canaries World subscription about 4 years ago and the service was c**p and unreliable back then, and now it''s a case of once bitten twice shy - I tend to follow the game using the live text commentary service on the BBC football website. Jerzy Krukowski 5 Posted August 29, 2007 It''s bloody annoying, I don''t see why as licence payers we can''t listento whichever radio station we choose regardless of where we''relistening, they could easily provide a code to allow proven licencepayers access . It''s about time digital radio provided the service it''sbeen advertised upon ie.choice. Especially as canariesworld as often asnot doesn''t work.
Jerzy Krukowski 5 Posted August 29, 2007 How about someone being lovely and kind and setting up a MSN audio feed from the radio? [;)]
First Jedi 0 Posted August 29, 2007
Especially as canariesworld as often as not doesn''t work.
Hmmm.... well, I''m in my 3rd year of having it, I listen to at least every other game, and I''ve never had a single problem listening to any game - there was once when the Norfolk radio wasn''t available for a 1/2, but I just listened to the other teams - still heard the entire game. If you geniuely have problems "as often as not" then the issue isn''t Canaries World, but your computer and your (in)ability to use it. Otherwise, I wouldn''t have been able to listen to 60 odd games in their entirety! Sorry dude!
Dr. Ink 0 Posted August 29, 2007 I signed up to Canaries world this year, as much of my work is on a ship. It worked OK last night and is usually OK. I find to make the connection 30 minutes before the game helps. Sometimes it is very hard getting commentary after the match has started. My connection is a little slow and the only thing that doesn''t work correctly for me is the TV replays/Match highlights etc.Doesn''t Radio Norfolk also broadcast on MW?I find the Sporting life website the best for match day updates. Two windows - the Norwich match in detail, and the Vidiprinter with live league tables updating with every goal. Much more exciting than watching the BBC lagging 10 minutes behind and updating every 5 minutes.
BIC 0 Posted August 29, 2007 All I can say to you Ob1 is that you''ve been exceedingly lucky. I''ve been using Canaries World for about 5 years and I''ve hadnumerous problems, and not with my computer OR my inability to use it.Admittedly, more often than not it works perfectly, but to suggest it''sfaultless is simply ridiculous. Why don''t you ask XXL16, Aka David Lee,who listens to every single game to find out what he thinks? From what I understand he''s not too impressed either. As for myself, I''ve cancelled my subscription and will never subscribeagain because of :a) PTV''s frequent technical issues b) PTV''s almost total lack of support when they suffer their frequenttechnical issues.c) The restraints on browsers and versions of WMPHow hard can it be to provide a decent failure-free service? I appearto be able to listen live to Radio Norfolk on the web whenever I choosewithout any difficulty.I''ve said it before and I''ll say it again. I know the club/league hassigned a long-term contract with PTV, but as soon as it ends I''d liketo see them provide this service independently and perhaps even free ofcharge. Are there any fans of City who haven''t pumped sums of cash, sometimes extremely large, into the club during their lifetimes?Wouldn''t it be nice of the club to give us a little something in returnfor that loyalty. It''s not asking much really and perhaps it might go towards rebuildingsome of the bridges that have been allowed to collapse in recent years.
