SM 0 Posted July 7, 2007 I think Andy O''Brien would be the perfect partner for Jason Shackell in our defense which needs some strengthening after leaking over 70 goals last season. At the age of 28 he would also bring the sort of experience we need and because he is 28 he is in his prime and not just a quick fix. He also impresses in stature standing at 6''3'''', so he could be a threat at set pieces. I don''t think the price would be an issue either because he is hardly 1st chioce at Pompey so I think that a bid of £1million would probably tempt Harry into selling him.Thoughts? paul ncfc 0 Posted July 7, 2007 I didn''t realise he was that young,is he left sided or right sided?
stuie1990 0 Posted July 7, 2007 i agree, a tall strong commanding defender who can control the defence is what we need. o''brien with his experience would be able to do this and i think he would be a great addition to our squad.
WilliamG 0 Posted July 7, 2007 i still fancy Darren Moore (Derby) to partner Shackell.
Carlos Valderrama 0 Posted July 7, 2007 Darren Moore would be good, short term solution though. What about Gary Doherty as the partner for Shackell? Could be a lot more assured at the back now he has Brellier mopping up in front of him. Otherwise, Davenport on loan would be my solution. Or Malky back from Watford while we are on a nostalgia trip (Cureton).
