Smudger and his Protest

Recommended Posts

Smudger can barely be described as a fan seeing as he never turns up to games and is what most people describe as a glory hunter. the idea of a protest before the season has even kicked off can be described in one word       PATHETIC!

Smudger...I''m surprised you even answered this sad little apologists exercise...and even more sad that you are prepared to stand up and fight for this lot. CA has sucked out the usual band of weaklings who would sit and watch Ipswich play if they wore yellow shirts...and they really are best left to fall flat on their faces. Internet nerds who live virtual lives from the comfort of a shoebox.

I suggest you do like me...let the sheep take the club down the river to the point where they all bail out...and you, me and the other true club supporters can then return to scrape up the mess. We have Yanks bleating from across the Atlantic (he really has his finger on the pulse doesn''t he?)...Pompous Londoners who can''t resist sticking their snouts into another person''s business (we''ve all seen our villages buggered up by them haven''t we?)...students who''ve got more spots than games under their belts....and of course the "new age" spectator who can afford the seats the real supporters can''t. They are not representative of the City....and not worthy of your effort.

The whole City fiasco a waste of time...and under Smith sadly the team itself doesn''t deserve a second thought. There are all sorts of hoorahs turning up at the ground these days...and in truth most of them would struggle to find their way to the ground if you dropped them in Tombland.  Little plastic figures sat in Delia''s cosy dolls house, moved in and out at her behest....and worst of all they pay for the privilege of doing so.

Hilarious....but some how embarrassing. They deserve each other mate.........
Cluck mate the things you say ring true with me everytime none more than the fact that football these days is a fashion and not a passion. I will always follow the BADGE of NCFC and for all these hoodwinked dedicated followers of fashion to constantly suggest otherwise makes me laugh.......i know mate i really do ,seen it following England. oh well.

That seems like a great idea.  You all stop posting on here slating everything that happens.  Spend all your Saturday afternoons in the Coach & Horses moaning and regressing into "Grumpy Old Men" in a self fulfilling prophecy.

When we get relegated / go into administration / or go bust........we will all go away, and you can fill the Directors box and/or dug out.

105 years of history.  The club was here along time gefore you were and will be a long time after.
The club will be...but the majority of the luvvies who nowadays sit in the stands won''t. When the balloon bursts (and not just at NCFC)...vast swathes of these modern trendy spectators will disappear....and the clubs will be pleading for proper fans to return.

It''s the club only that I support..not mercenary players...individuals or investors. I''ll be back there when the gloss peels off the grandstands to pick up the pieces ....but I''ll wager more than a few currently on here won''t.

For some of us this club is in our blood by birthright...but for most on here it is merely a trendy "interest". We''ll see how many will be left when we are down struggling in League One...as no doubt more than a few will have changed their colours by then.....and may I be so bold as to suggest Manchester United?...............

Well I suggest you support the club then...irrelevant of whether we have Earnshaw or Delia as centre forward.

Your arguments are much weaker by your perpetual grouping and slating of Norwich fans/students/londoners/etc, etc.  I sense bitterness in your whole persona.

One minute all Norwich fans are being muted as having never left the county and the next you are saying that most fans don''t have the club as their birthright.  What gives you the right more than anybody else?  I am disappointed by the number of fans that come out of the wordwork when things go well - but who are we to say that that is not their choice.  Anyway the last two seasons and the season tickets sales for this year have shown this as a non-issue.

If you don''t want to go...don''t. Somebody else will have your seat.  Stop wasting your time on here with something that makes you so unhappy.  Let all the fans who do want to support the club/team/players NOW do so.

You do spew some verbal dont you mate. Your an old traditionalist aren`t you, it`s lovely to see and so out of character. You wouldn`t be trying to change your stance and appeal to Wiz would you? Do you perhaps see your self appointed and deluded vision of importance being in some way eroded.
Same old rubbish question the pro board supporters always throw at you when things get a little messy at delias plaything. FACT- Things are going seriously wrong at CR and i for one would like to see more noise with respect to the boards years of mismanagement from the so called CR faithful. I cant believe after the contract rabble with regards to Earnshaws departure that people still back this folly! Utter stupidity in my eyes but what do i know?
Thanks for that Arthur..

Are you back from holiday now???

Are you prepared to meet up at the Coach & Horses or another pub in the City on Saturday 4th of August if £5million hasn''t been spent by then and get these protests on the road for the first home match of the season V''s Sothampton on Sat 18th August???
Hello Smudge im back. In answer to your question, bloody right i am. If we dont spend anywhere near that sort of money i think its time to start some sort of action. Sick to death of this pussy footing around these issues that are preventing us from being an established premier club. Actions speak louder than words so lets give the board up to the said date and take it from there. coach and horses near the station? Havent been there for a few years but sounds good if we have to take such action. But why oh why are we in such a silly state? WAKE UP EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!

cheers.
Sorry meant to say that I can always make it the Coachmakers if it is any easier for you Arthur?

You will have to let me know nearer the time mate!!!

The following was written after we had gained promotion to the Premiership - I don''t know who by , but it was in the EDP

Those not of the football faith never will probably never understand just why it all means so much to so many people. The delirious scenes in Norwich city centre earlier this week, however, may just have drilled the message home that supporting Norwich City Football Club is about far more than football. It is about where we are from, a place of which we feel immensely proud – it is part of who we are. A woman I interviewed for this paper on the morning of the victory parade, her scarf weighed down with badges, said of her beloved club, “It''s my blood”. Thousands will relate to that.

The idea of pledging your allegiance to some glamour club on the other side of the country simply because they are successful does not compute.

Do all you moaners get it now ?

If not why not go away have a think about it and leave us who want to go and support OUR club alone - those who don''t go really have no right to moan.
Yeah I get it but those scenes were not exactly dlirious fans going nuts were they?

On the other hand pi$$ed Norwich fans dancing across the Tyne Bridge at 2:30am in the morning a few hours after the league title was clinched in Sunderland and a handful of a few hundred City fans being moved on by the Police in Newcastle City Centre were delirious scenes...

Were you there though?

No I thought not....  So how about you go and preach to somebody else???

Yes thousands will relate to that Steve and just reading that has made me feel emotional.

It is our blood, its the club we love and its the club we''ll support through thick and then, and no Smudgers or Clucks or Arthur Whittles will ever make me feel any differently.

I wholeheartedly agree Smudger and believe me deciding NOT to see my team play next season is a far harder decision than following the sheep.....however....have you ever saved someone from a good hiding and found them absent when you could do with a bit of help?

This is the scenario you are in.....

I''m totally behind you and your motivation...I just fear that there are too few battlers in the stands these days and so seeking something better for them is a thankless task. They don''t warrant it...and nor does the hierarchy entrenched in the boardroom.
I know what you are saying Cluck and think that I probably wholeheartedly agree...

If the £5million plus is not spent though I am prepared to try and meet up with a few who are not satisfied and see if they have enough balls to follow this through...

If 20 of the right type of character turn up that is far better than 100 softies in my opinion...

The Worthy Out demos were an absolute joke that pandered to other fans feelings and the feelings of those at the club itself...

I wan''t characters with balls only turning up... who would walk on hot coals to see soething that they start through to it''s bitter end.

If I can''t find the type of characters needed then I am afraid that everybody associated with the club is a lost cause and deserves all of the c**p that is in stire for them!!!

Lets us know where you''ll be standing and we''ll give you a wave as we''re leaving the ground, happy with our 3 points.

So Smudger, the celebrations of our recent promotion are less valid than those of years ago?   Well I am completely at a loss to why you should think so.  As to whether drunken city fans can celebrate more than sober ones?  Does this mean that getting completely off your face makes you a better fan?  Ummm, maybe you will explain in time.

The celebrations outside City Hall were fantastic, as were those during our time in Europe, winning the Milk Cup and other promotions.  It''s difficult to choose which made me feel more proud.  However, is it really necessary to inject even more negativity into one of our more recent good times?  So when we all celebrated at Watford away you were absent?  You didn''t drive round the city delirious with delight the day Chase left the club either?  Forgive me Smudger, but every fan has personal memories of significant periods in our history they have enjoyed.  Maybe you have reached a new low in trying to bring down fans of this club.

Do you think its because smudger/cluck and arthur whittle love the club and hate the way its being run is why they want to protest?

So in your eyes if Norwich got relegated this year you wouldnt bat an eyelid because you claim to love the club and moaning would mean you didnt?

Its in there blood and they feel passionate thats why they get so annoyed, maybe they are just more passionate than yourself,or maybe they can just see through the bull that comes out of the carrow road pr machine and you cant, if you openly admit you wouldnt protest no matter what.

During the chase protests did you just stand there going "they cant love the club because they would stay quiet like me"?

Are you saying everyone who was part of the chase protests didnt love the club?

People show there love for clubs in different ways-yours to be honest will never see our club improve, and no im not totally against the board but can understand why people protest.

What about all the people at leeds who went nuts when they got relegated did that mean they dont love leeds?

Im behind the board for the time being but time will tell and i may just jump on the smudger/cluck/whittle bandwagon if things dont change and yes i do love the club.

To support a club through thick and thin you have to stand up and be heard during the thick or you just let those in charge ruin your club.

Mr Tracey,

CityAngel is capable of protesting, and was in fact one of the more vocal protestors in the Worthy Out movement.

Can you honestly see Norwich getting relegated ?  Shall we wait until, let''s say March of next year to see if we really are in dire danger ?

I was there at Watford... I was there at Sunderland the night we actually won the title...

Please read the actual post again GAZZA

It is about passion Gazza and while I will agree with you that the afternoon in Watford was more passionate than events around City Hall the evening they recieved the trophy, the events in Newcastle and Sunderland the day we actually won the title were more passionate still (as anybody who was there would tell you).

The only person on here that I can recall being at all involved with Worthy Out was JAS... and he joined proceedings at a very late stage too!!!

The Worthy Out affair was an utter joke too... that rumbled on for months and months too long becuase enough people were not prepared to open their eyes to what was actually going on at the club.

Smudger, kindly check your facts before you post.  City Angel was at some of the protests, as was I and several other posters on this forum.  I am not going to name them as it''s not for me to do so. They will no doubt come forward to say so if they see fit.  Whether or not the protests were a joke or not, you can''t go on saying things didn''t happen when they did.  A lot of the people who organised the protests were from forums other than this one, so they probably won''t respond to this anyway. By the way, has there ever been a protest at this club worthy of your support?

So she slags off Whittle and co for wanting to protest making out that it means they dont care about the club, then we find out she was involved in the worthy riots-hypercite!

I never said they would get relegated i said IF! Its called giving an example.

That protest had my support... but even by the time of the meeting at St Andrews Hall I could only view the way the protest was run as a joke...

I still joined in on several occasions... but that protest should of happened far earlier and not pampered to the whims of the club itself so much!!!

I still joined in on several occasions... but that protest should of happened far earlier and not pampered to the whims of the club itself so much!!!

Smudger, kindly don''t post =-)

I was on the Worthy Out protests - even when it was just down to the "Travel Shop 14" or so.

I''m happy to stand up and protest/complain when things aren''t right but, Smudger, I won''t be joining your protest.

Much as I disagree with a lot about the way the Club is run at times, I can also see that you can''t ''sack'' a board as easily as a manager can be dismissed.

Money is being spent, we''re in a period of transition with a new manager and deadwood is being cleared from the team.

I find your attitudes and arguments very boring (even when you may, at times, have a point you undermine it with the way you argue it and the name-calling).

I also find it rather hypocritical of you to criticise the WO movement which setup a website, printed posters/stickers, handed out flyers, organised meetings, wrote to the papers/club, and liaised with the police to stage peaceful protests/marches outside the ground over a period of time until momentum built up and his job became untenable*.

You have yet to organise anything other than a one-man protest for about 1 minute outside the ground. Perhaps people might take you and your arguments a little more seriously if you had the organisational abilities of those involved in the WO, or even the ''Chase Out'', campaigns.

* I know there was more to it than just the WO Campaign...before anyone says!

Well....reading the bile gushing from the mouths of "so called" NCFC fans I am even more aware of why this whole club is upside down. The level of obsession can only be liken to that of a favourite soap opera...it might be sh1t but you are going to watch it anyway. It''s the vaccuous mind in full flow.....and if it weren''t so comical it would be sad.

The fans of class 2007 are not fans...they are drones...habitually following something they really don''t understand. The language used en masse towards anyone who goes against the status quo is laughable and the arguments little more than childhood wrangles. It sums up the mentality of your average City "spectator" in 2007...and is all part of the cynical business plan by Smith and Co. to create a seige mentality. You''ve all been stitched up by the clever CR "spin" machine to believe that you are "part" of something special...but all you are is faceless punters bankrolling the Madonna''s fairytale.

I think we should rename the club the "Titanics"...because as sure as hell the good ship "Delia" is heading for the iceberg....and you''re all going down with it. Let''s just hope there are no lifebelts in board.

Mugs....the bloody lot of you.

I''ve seen this trend before, likewise with the words and terminology coming from the gobs of S & C, only binners would find Green and Yellow repulsive, only binners would vomit at those colours (both their words!) and only binners would refer to the City supporters with the vast number of  nasty names these two binman regular use.

Wise up people, the only reason Smudger  (Smudge on the Ippo boards!) doesn''t go to Carrow Road is he''s down at Portman Road laughing at us all................of course..................this is only my opinion!.

Cluck, in my opinion again, is Smudger.

Come on peeps...............think about it, you know it makes sense!.

Firstly NO I will not be protesting

Secondly........Wiz has hit the nail on the head with S and C. One scum fan only here to wind all the genuine fans up. I suggest that if you ignore them and don`t bite to the drivel they /he/she post, that they will soon get fed up with the lack of attention.

I was at the protests and helped organise the St Andrews Hall meeting. I am all for standing up and being counted when I think it is appropriate. Right now I dont think it is.

I don''t think that Smudger is a binner, but if he is, that would explain the disguise in his avatar there.

Yes thousands will relate to that Steve and just reading that has made me feel emotional.

It is our blood, its the club we love and its the club we''ll support through thick and then, and no Smudgers or Clucks or Arthur Whittles will ever make me feel any differently.

Nail on the head Cityangel
