gazzathegreat 0 Posted June 8, 2007 I see that Dumble is indeed still with us, just not as prolific now ......are you still studying DD or is that now finished (you must be the eternal student lol). I must admit I miss my sparring partner Mook, whatever happened to him, also Chicken, who always wrote at great length, with intelligent insights into the club....so much so a lot of people thought he was a club employee....whatever next?Tumbleweed, please stay and contribute - I also miss FatManFat! I havent'' seen this mysterious Cluck? Is he/she still on here?
canary cherub 1 Posted June 8, 2007 Negativity seems to cause some posters real anxiety. They appear to believe that relentless positive thinking, in the face of all evidence to the contrary, will somehow make things better. Therefore people who point out the negatives are undermining their project.Relax folks. It doesn''t matter how positive or negative you are, it won''t make the situation at the club either better or worse. The most important thing is to be true to what you believe and call it as you see it.
Mystic, its not negativity that winds people up, its people taking an extreme view, being unable to back up that view, and resorting to calling people sheep etc when their extreme view is challenged. Without people holding different opinions, there would be no point to any message board. This board has always had argument and disagreement (I lurked long before I joined) however the levels of rudeness these days can be breathtaking.

blahblahblah 2 Posted June 9, 2007
Negativity seems to cause some posters real anxiety.
I have no problem with negativity if it can be backed up. For example, I consider myself to be a positive poster most of the time, but I posted on here that last season was the worst in terms of league defeats since 72 / 73, which is negative, and factual. I also called for local investment on this board before we knew about the Turners. If it''s negativity based on he said she said hearsay, what purpose does it serve ? All it does in my eyes is distract from genuine concerns. What''s so bad about constructive criticism and benefit of the doubt ?

I think most people are happily in the middle somewhere, and I am happily in this group - I don''t think everything Norwich is 100% right or 100% wrong, good decisions and mistakes been made in the last few years, as at all clubs and organisations; for most people this is no particular reason for binning the board, but we can quite rightly ask questions of it, and be constructive or critical when we think it is right to be. It is when each and every post is critical and saying the same thing that I get a bit bored with it!
nutty nigel 7,513 Posted June 9, 2007 Am I in the minority in the fact that I enjoy this forum? I can get involved with posters of differing views without it becomong nasty and I find most posters to be good natured with me. The others it''s easy enough to avoid.I only joined last year but I read the messages for a long time before I posted. There''s always been bitching, stupid rumours cliques and infighting and there''s always been some informative and interesting threads. I agree with Alex_NCFC''s post and Mystic makes great points in hers. I also think Blainsey''s comments to Fordy epitomise the way posts are de-based by bitching and in-fighting.Amen Post Ghost. Fordy 0 Posted June 9, 2007 Blainsey - lighten up!! You seem to take this board and my posts a little too seriously. I thought that this board was supposed to be a fun message board where people exchange their lghthearted views on the club we all support!
Blainsey 2 Posted June 9, 2007 there is absolutely nothing wrong with constructive critiscm and from the original thread i am in favour of debate. but that is the point...debate. rarely are there threads that include informed debate. these days.
Master J-Do Pur 0 Posted June 10, 2007 I''m sad because nobody misses me. Haven''t posted for a while mainly due to the depressive nature of this board. Reading a headline about a possible signing i get excited and wish to discuss. I click on the message board and see post headings with such a negative spin i just close down firefox. It''s a shame but hopefully Grant will cheer a few of you up. Did anyone miss me?
