Another woman at the top in football administration - Marie Partner, CEO of Colchester. Started off going to Layer Road as part of a chearleading troupe with aforementioned name, ended up as CEO. Talk about working your way up. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4158/is_20070119/ai_n17152882Wonder how they''re going to cope in div 1 next year minus danns, halford, iwelumo and probably cureton. Still, massive respect for the girl, esp the part about not paying any agents fees last year. I bet she doesn''t get the same treatment from Colchester fans that Delia does from most people on here. (Oh dear, i just had to slip that in at the end there didn''t i - now see if i''ve lit the blue touch paper!!)

By div 1, I presume you mean the Championship...same league as us?

Danns left before the start of last season, Halford left in January so they didn''t really miss those two. The strikers will be the big difference and my guess is they will be missed.

But sadly our girl goes ''Cheapy Cheapy, Cheap Cheap''.

Now, if she was a fullblooded canary she would go.........

Ah well.

a1canary - Marie Partner has clearly been a fan of Colchester from a young age and has worked her way up to the position she holds so I think you do her a massive diservice by comparing her to Delia.....
And there we have it, the first bite!!

A1 - Explain how that is a "bite" as you put it. I have not said anything bad about Delia, just pointing out the obvious fact that apart from both being female and both being in footy, there the comparison ends.

Perhaps you have just assumed my post is having a pop at Delia because that is what you wanted/were hoping for.....

I mentioned this on another thread but this is probably a better place. I think there are a lot of misconceptions doing the rounds about Delia. Does anyone have any idea how long Delia has been a Norwich fan? From what I can gather it''s nearly 40 years.

It surprised me.

Makes no difference if ya don''t like her though [:P]

So what?

Old Joe down the road from me has been a fan for over 60 years. And still goes to Carrow Road when he''s up to it ..........and he can get a blo*dy ticket. He don''t like being searched much either. Still has his old yellow & green rattle in the attic too.

He''s very sad these days though because City are too often a soft touch and the b*ggers are too lazy & won''t earn their money. Too many flipping nancy''s in the squad these days is his view. As for Worthington, don''t mention him - got lucky for a while there. He don''t mind your Delia - nice old gal - but she should stick to the telly. She don''t really understand at root what it''s all about - and why don''t her darn husband say someting once in a while - don''t he have as much shares as her?? But he loves Hucks and Dion. Men after his own heart.

And why would that surprise you, Nutty????????

Old Joe was born Norfolk - and if he was honoured by his country he would go to his grave the happiest of souls.

You should meet old Joe one day. He swears he found one of your marbles under his seat in the City stand when he went one day last year. Blue with tinges of white I think he said it was. Hurled it into the river he did after the match.

But that''s old Joe for you. Passionate about his City fro the beginning to the end.

P.S. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you this. Old Joe swears he met ''that young Andrew Turner'' a couple of years ago. Said that they were travelling first class Norwich - Liverpool Street at the time. Had such a nice long chat about City that poor ''Mr Turner'' didn''t get through his papers that day. ''Lovely lad'' old Joe said, loves his football.
It''s totally a bite SoB! Where exactly did i say they were the same, or comparable, other than to state she is another woman at or near the top of  football admin? A point you make yourself. It is you who is assuming i think there are similarities between them. I just thought her story was interesting and amusing, and that others might find it the same.My comment that she probably get less abuse from fans than Delia was just a throw away comment at the end (that is almost certainly true) - a banana tossed in to the monkey enclosure if you will. Did you enjoy it!?

Beats me how that works, Nutty. We''ll have ask those nice folks at Archant.

Do you suppose it could have anything to do with them value engineering the less advanced capablities out of the message board systems to save time and money? But no, on second thoughts, I shouldn''t think so because it''s NCFC not Archant who are nearly up sh*t street both financially and on the product quality front.

Maybe it''s just one of those techy things that such as us wouldn'' unnerstan, y''see?
