So, we're not interested in James Hayter again?

Recommended Posts

From the  BBC website:

Doncaster bid for Hayter accepted
Bournemouth striker James Hayter is set to move after the Cherries accepted a bid from Doncaster Rovers.

BBC Radio Solent reports that a deal is unlikely to proceed immediately as Hayter, 28, is on holiday.

Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O''Driscoll managed Hayter when he was in charge of Bournemouth.

"James is a player I know well from my time at Bournemouth and I''d be keen to bring him here if it was possible," O''Driscoll told BBC Radio Sheffield.

Obviously Bournemouth and Doncaster are not on holiday.[;)]

Good point well made Blah. With Earnshaw and Martin firing on all pistons,we don''t need a goalscorer......we need a goal creater.

Most managers these days say they need a minimum of 4 strikers in their first team squads - for several good reasons.

Don''t know anything about Hayter. Just that we seem to have had an interest in him from time to time recently. Wasn''t he at Bournemouth with Peter Grant?

Plus over the years we seem to have had a relatively close relationship with Bournemouth - from John Bond through John Benson & Mel Machin through to Kevin Bond, plus 1/2 others.

A fair point Bly, it could be that our interest in McAllister has taken priority.  Earnshaw and Hucks teaching Martin and McAllister a thing or 2 over the next few seasons would make for a nice investment in the future.  Someone in another thread mentioned that Hayter knew the new boss of Donny Rovers and was keen to work with him, which might take us out of contention.  It could also be that with new money available, we can set our sights a bit higher ?  Touch wood...

Hayter has signed for Doncaster - despite all the attention higher leagues clubs have given him following media attention this suggests that noe were convinced he was worth a contract.

We should be looking to the likes of Chris Porter at Oldham if they dont get promoted, would would gives a presence up front that should benefit Earnie, but who is also young, hungry and make sure Martin and Brown haveserious competition.
