FilletTheFishWife . 0 Posted March 31, 2007 Assuming it was one of the 12 players who let us down (again) at Carrow Road who could he mean?I reckon its Safri''s card that''s marked. So along with those 8 currently loaned out plus Colin, MLJ , Thorne and possibly Gallagher it looks like a wholesale clearout. I doubt Fotheringham has done enough to stay either.
jetstream 0 Posted April 1, 2007 Well to be fair to PG, I doubt we''ll have the usual ''no-one does any transfer business in May/June/July'' tackI get the feeling it''s going to be a busy summer in terms of people leaving - let''s hope the Club matches his ambitions in terms of people coming in. Hardhouse44 289 Posted April 1, 2007 To judge Grant we will have to wait until next season and to see how "His" team performs. He talks the talk with harsh word about how bad we were yesterday and I have no problem with that. I admire a manager who castigates his plays as well as one who praises them. He has to be judged though at sometime as do we all. By Christmas he should be accountable for our performance and league position. He has to shop wisely and reduce the wage bill to do so.Fotheringham, Colin, Hughes, Mcveigh, Thorne and Gallagher will all leave the club I am convinced of that. But will some others follow. Doherty, Safri, Etuhu, Drury, and even Croft all have to up their game considerably if they are going to be good enough to be part of a team challenging for a place in the premiership. And we have to consider the fact that he may be forced to lose 1 or 2 players Earnshaw being the most likely. What we will all want to know is can we get in the quality replacements and will the money be there. Here''s hoping. Polar 0 Posted April 1, 2007 i noticed this as well, the bit about surprising people worried me. i can''t believe he will get rid of safri, but i wouldnt be surprised if its someone we haven''t thought of whose going... croft or doherty maye, possibly shackell... cant believe he would dump hucks or any of his signings
Rossi 0 Posted April 1, 2007 i think drury will be off. can only imagine captaincy was offered to him to keep him, wasnt Sunderland linked with him? i think drury is a good player in desperate need of a new challenge to get him standards back to where they were.what about Etuhu? they have been reports linking him at xmas with a prem move, and his hardly been the darling of hte crowd has he? Evil Monkey 52 Posted April 2, 2007 Safri was my first thought, along with maybe Drury... If Fozzy doesn''t start performing I reckon he''ll be off too. Colin will be gone, as will Thorne, WLY and maybe Ryan J. My thoughts are that PG would like to get rid of others (so would we) but won''t be able to due to sheer numbers... We need to get rid of so much dead wood but we already have a wafer thin squad. I see little if any money coming in for any of the players you mentioned and replacements if they are to be better will cost.My thoughts are sacrifices may have to be mad to rebuild this team. If shackell was able to raise fund of £3m for example the I would say he should be sold. (If the money can be invested in the squad). We have a handful of good to excellent individuals at Norwich. What we need is a team!
Canary Boy 0 Posted April 2, 2007 Most of the players you''ve all mentioned weren''t even in the team Saturday...how can they have let us down?
BlyBlyBabes 0 Posted April 3, 2007 If................?Good grief.Sometimes I worry about the quality of PG''s thinking. And consequently his decision making.I think our best bet is to hope that he''s a lucky manager.OTBC

Grant has a better vocabulary than Worthy (no great distinction admittedly) but even his language doesn''t stand stand up to close linguistic analysis. There''s no doubt about that in games of football. He presuambly means that if he regards a step as necessary, then he wil take it even if they are not obvious or expected. After all, he was playing and praising Robinson so it was hardly predictable that he allow him to leave. Whatever else lies ahead, I think the future will be eventful. percyvarco 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Wholesale changes are due but unless we sell Hucks Earnie or possibly Martin (contracts schmontracts) none of the others will generate a fee. When our new players are in the wages of the disposed of players may not cover the new wage requirement so with Doomys prudance etc don''t expect any fees to be paid for players. Its down to management skills to get more from the players consistantly. Look at Sunderland, same players now flying.

The first think Roy Keane did was bring in 6 players. They then spent millions of pounds in the remaining transfer window. Roy has great managerial skills I am sure, but he has also spent a packet on transfers and wages. Niall Quinn even paid £8,000 to get a few fans back to Sunderland after they were chucked of a plane for being too rowdy.Sunderland are loaded.
