Scum may soon be debt free!!

Is this the catch ?
A possible down side is that Ipswich would pay interest to the new

consortium, and unless significant new money was invested, the club

would have less to give Jim Magilton for his playing budget. With

season-ticket sales likely to drop as a direct correlation to Town''s

league form and final position, revenue would be down as would retail

sales and commercial activity as a whole.
Any less money available for players would give them a league 1 standard side.

Entertaining to go through the paper there, in the piece about unwanted records "sicknote" Marshall scored a consolation at Arsenal. We have got one of those here!
If negotiations between a mystery consortium and the club''s three major lenders are finalised the Blues could end up slashing a large proportion of their current liability.
slashing a large proportion != debt free

This is what happened to Derby in the summer!!! There has to be a catch!

Read the article again. Its just a ruse so that the debt showing on the balance sheet looks smaller and makes the club more likely to find new backers.

In effect it is a debt swap. A consortium wants to buy the debt from Norwich Union and R.B.S. Ipswich will then pay interest to them instead.

It also says that their debt is £36 million, nearly twice the debt at Carrow Rd.

Now that article is a very good example of spin... gently released by the club to the media to give a little hope of doing a Derby... quite a few unanswered questions in there too...

It could go either way.

The debt company may provide money for modest funds so that they get promoted, they will then easily recoup their investment.

Or they may hold the club to randsom until forever into eternity.

load of crap really about the ref costing them, with out a time machine, who knows the player sent off might ive scored a own goal if he hadnt been sent off or he might have caused a mass brawl after accidently crashing into a mascot which would lead to 6 ipswich players sent off each with a 5 match ban.

its like saying if marshall never got injured against chelsea he might have had a long kick bounce over petr cech and go in, knocking chelseas confidance so much we win 4-0

its a load of cack really, u will never know the real outcome of a possible future unless ur marty mcfly!
