Dickson Etuhu

Recommended Posts

Last nights performance by Etuhu summed him up as a player..  A few glimpses of good play followed by being totally anonymous for long periods.  Even the good play is usually immediatly followed up by poor decision making - winning the ball and then stopping and passing it back rather than driving onwards. Some good tackles followed by being caught in posession by more alert midfielders.  Dummy after dummy failing (although one actually came off and was quite good!), he tried to dummy it in so many different ways you wonder if this guy even wanted the ball last night.  Towards the end of normal time he put in a great block - I had forgotten he was still on the pitch!!

I think the spell on the bench he will be getting as Fozzy taked his place will do Dickson and Norwich City no end of good.

Unsubable and undropable. This will either show his worth or his limits. Perhaps it will become clear to us all what PG sees in Dickson

I was going to post a topic about this.

The first time he lost the ball, he legged it back and got it back for us. After that he was the laziest piece of c/rap ive watched in a football match. The wages he''s on etc dont matter, you play for a club, you give it your all until the last minute of contract runs out, or until the final transfer paper is signed.

At the moment, Etuhu shouldnt be in the starting line up.

We seem to say he has grreat potential with his phyiscal build - but im not seeing any potential there at the moment.

he loses the ball.. the crowd get on his back.. so he sprints back and brings the guy down to make it look like he went for the ball.. never rated Desmond.. never will...

Get fozzy here long term and ship this waste of space out!

he rotted in the reserves at Preston before we signed him.. a game every month in the stiffs is about his level i think.

jas :)

The guy has got to go. He has been a total passenger in the last 4 home games. He just does not have the drive required to be a footballer at this level.

Dickson is now our biggest liability in the team, its time for the

manager to drop him to the bench and see how we play as a team without

him at the moment he is not pulling his weight in the side. His ball

control his passing and awareness have deserted him ,he is now number

one candidate for fans scapegoat now robinson has left us .So i think

its in everybodies interest for him to have a few games on the

sidelines to freshen him self up OTBC

We (according to a hint from PG, I think) have persevered with him to allow him to find his confidence, but he is clearly not pulling his weight. When Chadwick is fit and Lappin is playing wide left and Fotheringham in the centre, there could even be a difficult choice between Chadwick, Fozzy and Safs for two positions in the centre, without thinking about Etuhu.I admire PG''s patience and loyalty to Etuhu, but the point must surely arrive soon when he is presented with the ultimatum, "Play on the field, or else sit on the bench!"

Etuhu is Undroppable?

So far we have had one match where there has been an acceptable

senior alternative to Etuhu, this is Fotheringham, people wouldn''t have

wanted Hughes or Robinson instead and all the other options are kids.

In that one match Etuhu wasn''t dropped, however we had Chadwick and

Earnshaw injured and Drury banned, meaning that Fotheringham eventually

had to play on the left wing as Lappin was at left back and Huckerby up

front (this seemed a good choice), before that we had 3 central

midfielders, again meaning that there hasn''t yet been a chance to drop

him (and put in a like for like senior replacement).

Chelsea on saturday will be the first match where Grant has a

reasonable senior alternative to Etuhu, so we will see if he is

undroppable.

I hope my point comes across - that I would rather have Etuhu than the

alternative (same position) senior players that we have had available

for the matches so far this season.

I also know all the arguements about playing the kids, but Grant seems

to know what he is doing on that front. I used to advocate playing all

the kids all the time, but I have realised that while this works in

computer games, it doesn''t work in real life.

I should also state that I hope he isn''t undroppable.
