Moral victory

Recommended Posts

So, Norwich lose by four goals to Chelsea. The team from Norfolk - worth no more than £10 million - beaten by the £250m EPL champions.

Were Chelsea 25 times better than Norwich? I don’t think so. For stretches, Norwich looked like challengers. They played with hunger and some ability. Chelsea’s players, those international mercenaries, were good, yes, but £250m good? I don’t think so.

And the fans? Anyone can support Chelsea, or Man U, or Liverpool. You generally have to come from Norfolk to want to support Norwich.

It was stirring to hear our fans singing OTBC, drowning out the efforts of Chelsea’s lot. Can they buy a century-old song to go with their billions?

Neutral football fans I think will have enjoyed seeing a club owner, Delia Smith, watching the game alongside the fans.

I can’t imagine Roman Abramovich doing that.

Chelsea progress to the next round, 4-0 winners. Norwich hit the bar twice and take the moral victory.

Well said!!! I was at the match & couldn''t agree more.

I had to sit in with the Chelsea fans in the thick of the matthew harding stand. The score didn''t reflect the game. I was really proud of the boys today. It should have really been 2-0, but never mind. What could it have been if Earnie had been playing. OTBC

All the un witty remarks aside i fully agree with you. I was there today and was proud to be a norwich fan, and i havn''t felt like that for a long time! When you look at birmingham fans and the fact that they are still moaning even though they sit second in the league. We deserve to be where they are.

Give me "little old norwich" anyday!!
