Sell out - Leeds

Recommended Posts

With the Leeds clash being a sell out almost 12 days before the game is due the fans are certainly not voting with their feet are they - obviously happy with how things are panning out down at NCFC.  It makes me laugh - you get posts on here slating the board, slating the players and virtually everything else that is associated with our club and yet what happens - a sell out.  And this with our team playing some of the worst football we have seen in years.  No wonder the board are chuckling away.

Even when the club is doing badly you should still support it. The fact that it is a sell out shows that the views on this board don''t reflect the majority views.

also - leeds are doing even worse so it should be a win

I''d like to think your''re right.  If we win we start to move way from the relegation places, if we lose, we''re really in the s***.

Unfortuntately, Leeds have been active during the transfer window and we''ve been sat on our arse, and, I''ve got a horrible feeling that we will probably lose.

It''s difficult for fans to vote with their feet with so many season ticket holders because their tickets would be paid for anyway. Season ticket renewals are the only way fans have to vote with their feet and hopefully many will. It will be good for all concerned if we lose 4,000 season ticket holders. Good for the casual fans because they will see more games and good for the club because those seats will be sold at casual prices.

Maybe the whole "playing crap" thing is a ruse by the board so that people don''t renew??? (JOKE!)

[/quote]Rubbish!Are you saying that the majority of City fans are happy with what''s happening at the club.  Of course they are not. Those on these type of forums may sometimes be the "fringe" or "radical" element, but generally they accurately views represent those who go to the games.  You just have to listen to the conversations around you at games to know that most City supporters are deeply unhappy at the moment.  My expereince is that most appear to be unhappy with:a) The repeated lack-lustre display from certain players (over paid, with over-inflated egos is a common theme)b) The board for letting things slip so quickly. The fact that we sell out aways games is a testament to the fans themselves and not the club.  City has some of the most passionate, dedicated fans anywhere and they are proving it by sticking by the club come hell or high water.  The majority will always be largely silent, that''s simply human nature.

if it is anything like the same fixture last year, there will be a lot of Leeds fans mixed in with the Norwich fans,

which also led to the stewards / police being very busy when  they scored

I think the fact of a sell out is to be lauded. It shows we are not arrogant fickle fans who turn away at the first sign of trouble. The Board know damn well that the fanbase isn''t happy- they aren''t isolated from TV, radio, newspapers, the internet, the postal service and match day chanting. We don''t need acres of empty seats to show dissatisfaction- we need a full and noisy stadium to try to help Peter Grant pull this club up by its bootstraps.

Mind you, Leeds have a traditionally big away support so I wonder if they''ve taken more tickets than other clubs?

21000 season tikcet holders... 500-1000 stepped up for Casual fans.. Leeds offered an extra allocation of 4000? they travel well and this is a 6 pointer would take them all...

Well its a six-pointer, and so an exciting game which fans will want to go to.  No different to the relegation games at the end of the Premiership season, can''t remember people avoiding attending them to make some kind of point.  What people need to realise is that bad stuff happens, sometimes inspite of best intentions, just need to roll sleeves up and get on with it rather than winging and blaming all and sundry.  Makes me wonder how some people on here cope with everyday life, wonder if they start publicly berating weathermen everytime it rains on them.  At least we will go down fighting in front of full houses whatever, not many teams could enojoy that level of commitment.  Anyway, whats so bad with League 1?  At least we will win a few games, see some different grounds...

Cheer up and see you at Wembley.

I''m not having a go at the Club for doing this (it''s fairly common) but one of the reasons for the sell-out is that the Club have been offering cut-price tickets at local schools

Friend of mine is a teacher and he could have bought a group of tickets at approx £10 each.

Won''t be long until we see the old ''kids-for-a-quid'' scheme back!

That''s what I thought when we got relegated from the Premiership!

Anyway, the reason it''s a sell out is simply because... It''s Leeds! They''ll have lots of ''fans'' around here who only go to see ''their team'' play once or twice a decade when they visit FCR. Casual tickets are being sold to casual fans!

Remember it well. I coach an Under 13''s team and we had the privelege of a 5-a-side match before the game on the pitch and free tickets for me, the boys and their parents.

Was difficult not to jump up and shout when we scored, but I did see the one fan with his shirt off who got escorted out.

Bit off topic I know but if we don''t beat Leeds who have only won 3 out of their 13 away fixtures I will be very depressed.
