Chapman Baxter 0 Posted January 27, 2007 I don''t know, I haven''t seen it (not that that will stop most people forming a knee-jerk opinion).Adams seemed to think he had a good game other than that.
Alex Harvey-Jones 0 Posted January 27, 2007 It sounded like he has some potential though and was playing well until his sending off. Disappointed with that but maybe he won''t be the poor signing many are writing him off to be!

Hardly violent behaviour is it?From what I heard he looked lively and generally caused problems for the Blackpool defence.
sdldjl05 0 Posted January 27, 2007 sorry didnt realise this was a spelling test cheers for the response though really relevant.would you like me to change my handle so you can pronounce it?

Ginja 26 Posted January 27, 2007
I can''t pronounce your name and I think you can''t spell.
I must say I think thats a bit harsh Yankee, it was only a minor slip and his name is irrelevent. But anyway I think Brown had a good game by the sound of it and was unlucky to be sent off but I will reserve some judgement til I have seen the replays but at worst he''s made a silly mistake. YankeeCanary 0 Posted January 27, 2007 My sincere apologies for the cutting remark. Not good form on my part. Seeing as you are a relatively new poster, however, I do think it might make sense for you to change your handle as people will be better able to communicate with you. ianboogie 0 Posted January 27, 2007 what will do know as brown will be missing a game is it time we gave martins a game
JC 0 Posted January 27, 2007 YankeeCanary - that was a pretty ignorant post IMO. To the original topic starter, I think its to early to judge him, BUT it hardly dispels the rumours, so that is worrying.
passdinho 0 Posted January 27, 2007 he was absolutly quality today - held the ball up, was all over the pitch - his first booking was ridiculous, his 2nd/3rd foul jumping against the centre-half, the second booking he deserved. But overall looked like he could be a really good foil for Earnshaw

The guy performed very very promisingly otherwise which is more than the majority on here who had written him off before he kicked would have expected. 7rew 0 Posted January 27, 2007 passdinho this is exactly right, did more in midfield than etuhu. his second booking was deserved, his fist also colin''s and drury''s wern''t, not sure about the blackpool one.
GJD 0 Posted January 27, 2007 I thought Brown played well and as already stated held the ball up well, but did not win too many in the air. Still Blackpool centre backs were pretty tall.Would be nice to see him combine with Ernie when he''s back. As for the rest of the team they dug in and battled well apart from Dickenson who seems very low on confidence or if I wanted to be harsh just uninterested. My MOTM was Robinson. Played well in both midfield and when he was back in defence.

greenTshirt 2 Posted January 27, 2007 just saw it on TV and it certainly didnt look as bad as it first sounded on the radio commentary.the bloke seemed to have a good game - so let''s give him the benefit of the doubt

He looked good but I think he''ll get better and he should link up well with Earnshaw if the two ever get to play together..........
burn down the ipswich 0 Posted January 27, 2007 he was given the hard task of being upfront on his own so had to keep running out wide for the ball but what he did he did well and you can''t really blame him for having an impossible job. looks very promising for when earnie comes back or we play another quick striker up with him. he really shouldnt have handballed when he did it was really stupid but he should never have been booked before hand, the defenders where to doing exactly the same to him all game. Branston Pickle 3,632 Posted January 27, 2007
Did well against Blackpool, thats it then new superstar on the horizon, early judgement works both ways.
Precisely - which is why this thread is completely unnecessary. Sounds like he''s started well enough but only been on the pitch for just over a game. It is far too early for the pessimists to say he''s going to be crap or for the optimists to call him a good signing. Perhaps we should let him be for a while to see how things go. That is unless he is to be the new scapegoat - which seems to already be the case for some.

sdldjl05 0 Posted January 28, 2007 No i''m not putting him down i think he cpuld turn out to be a good signing if he keeps out of trouble, i was just asking as i had not seen it on the tv just knew he had being sent off!!!!!

No wonder this club is in such a flaccid state.........
Jeez, you really do have it in for the guy and are unwilling to give him even the faintest chance, which is completely pathetic. The ''acceptability'' of any sending off depends what it is for: if he turned round and whacked someone that is entirely different from a booking for fouling + one for handball, as that sort of thing happens to most players, he''ll live and learn. But of course, in your world he won''t be allowed to.
Reggie Strayshun 0 Posted January 28, 2007 You are right. It''s not acceptable. But,we must give him a chance. If his reputation is anything to go by,then Grant is going to have his work cut out. However PG has "talked the talk",and as is the case with so many things he''s offered his opinion on,how he deals with Brown is going to prove whether he can"walk the walk" as well. He''s done NOTHING so far to prove to me that he can

Every which way we have howls of "foul" when any criticism is made....and on his debut especially, he should have made bloody certain he kept his nose clean. Rather like turning up drunk on your first day at work.....very stupid! The principle of being a realist is to take things as they actually are...not how we would like them to be. He came here with a dodgy reputation....and immediately let''s everybody down by getting sent off. Luckily his two "minor infringements" didn''t cost us the game this time....but would you all be so forgiving if it were versus Ip**** and it aided in sending us down to Div3? I think not........... We all have to earn our chances in this life....not expect them on a plate without question.

To be honest I thought the ref was harsh on him all throguh the game.
Alex Moss 2,165 Posted January 28, 2007 To be fair the blokes a big 6 footer and any ''classic'' English centre forward likes to mix things up (I''m referring to his size and style rather than I already think he''s the next Alan Shearer). At the end of the day, Chris Brown didn''t punch anyone, he got stuck in and that''s what I, and hopefully the rest of the supporters, want to see...PASSION. I was not there but listening to the radio and he sounded very good, and technically adept. Can''t help but feel he ultimately got sent off due to ''debut eagerness'', probably checked the Pink''un and wanted to shove it back down the throats of the people that have already written him off... well good for him!.
