CITY boss Peter Grant today confirmed that the Club could be without striker Robert Earnshaw for the rest of the season.

Grant speaking to the press this morning said: "Unfortunately this is going to be a case of months rather than weeks for Earnie.

"He had an operation on Tuesday and the injury is similar to

that suffered by Robert Green, where the ligament has come away from

the bone.  But it''s not as bad as Robert''s hopefully."

Asked if that meant the Canaries'' top scorer would miss the rest of

the season, he said: "Possibly, obviously I would hope to see him back

before then but there is a chance that won''t happen.

"I would be delighted if I got him back by the end of April but that

depends on how his recovery goes. However, it could be next season,

we''ll just have to wait and see.

"Obviously Earnie is absolutely gutted, as am I," he added.

Robert Earnshaw picked up the groin injury in training last Thursday and was ruled out of Saturday''s 3-1 defeat to Plymouth.
