The Influence of our coaches?

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about this whilst driving to work this morning, and thinking about the iminent signing of Chris Brown.  Brown was linked with us during Worthington''s tenure, and so was Chadwick.

It may be just me but I beginning to think that whilst Grant is finding his feet from the step up of Assistant Manager to Manager he is relying heavily on the influences of Hunter, Livermoore et al.  I know that all good Managers have excellent wingmen, but I still don''t see Grant stamping his authority on players HE wants.  Ultimately yes, it''s his decision and say so as to who comes through the door but these seem to be heavily weighted by the opinions of others, has he actually gone out and identified his own targets or is he just using past judgements? - What have our scouts been doing since November!!

As Brown has now signed on the dotted line I just wondered what peoples thoughts were on the below.  It does seem as though our ''targets'' are long standing one and not one''s which have truly been identified by Peter Grant?

well he signed ashdown on loan, now rumours of marshall on loan. he wanted pearson and riordan - so i think theyre grant''s targets maybe some players just coincide with the players worthington wanted

Livermore probably put his name forward shortly after Riordan turned us down , thats two signings now and both of them previous Worthington targets , what a waste of time sacking him was .

chadwick is a good player; i dont think we can judge brown till we see him. i think grant is his own man; i really dont think you can say sacking worthington was a waste of time until we have seen what grant does by end of season and what kind of side he has put together
