I only tell it as i see it. Hux is still effective always 2 people trying to take him out of the game. This frees up another in our squad to use the space. shame we have no one else who can use this space that hux creates. Hux is still our best winger.
They need the ball to make the extra space pay, hucks is holding it too long too often IMO
If Huckerby is holding on to the ball for to long as you say it is only because he feels the pressure to create everything because the rest of the midfield are so poor. And in addition I put Croft the that bracket too. He was totally ineffectual on Saturday. No end product at all.

IMO when all is said and done, we do have some decent players across all parts of the pitch - the problem has been getting them to play consistently, as a team, and whether we have cover.  Re: wingers, I''ve not seen enough of Chadwick but with him, Hucks and Croft in the squad, Eagle as additional cover/Hughes at a push, we do seem now to have those places covered.  Who is best is largely moot - it is probably Hucks but depends on form, injuries etc.

Re: Hucks, as per some others, I''ve always felt that he keeps the ball too long at times - if he draws 2-3 players creating space, we don''t actually get the benefit if that space isn''t utilised....when he is on form it doesn''t matter as he will take them on and beat them, but when he is a little off colour as he is at the moment, he should maybe use it more.  That is my considered opinion, not a bash at him!

Never mind the best, do we have any wingers at the club?  In the traditional sense a winger is a player who stays out wide and uses a combination of pace and trickery to get to the by-line and cross accurately for the onrushing strikers.  Or cut inside and score regularly like Kenny Foggo used to.  Having said that, without Dion or a fully fit 20 goals a season for Cardiff Thorne, we have no-one to capitalise on any pin-point crosses.  We cannot even cross accurately from  a dead ball situation.  At the moment despite their undoubted ability none of our wide players are doing this.  Neither are they playing like a wide midfielder should.  Not enough covering back, supporting others or dominating mid-field.  In short we have players like Hucks and Croft who are wonderful to watch when on form but are not providing a sufficiently consistent or telling contribution to the team effort.

Mind you that last statement would cover virtually the entire of PG''s available options.  But all is not lost! PG is one of the new breed of upand coming managers and I am confident that, having achieved all the required coaching qualifications, he will soon harness the undoubted ability of our existing and future players into a match-winning combination.  All I ask is we give him a chance.
