hogesar 10,762 Posted November 29, 2006 Yes, well, i saw it sarcastically suggested that there would be a website devoted to this somewhere on these forums, i guess i took it seriously (damn my 14 year old intellect), and made one.I''ve produced websites for some time now, and while i head to the mature age of 15, i have built up pc''s, created some naff games, etc. So, i made this website, hoping it will provoke something. If you go to the website, you''ll see that i ask for you all to post your reasons, or any comments you want on the page, here. Thsi is because i dont know enough HTML for making a forum etc, and the crap site builder doesnt either. Anyway, visit it here http://keep-hucks.0catch.com , and post here on your thoughts!Anyone who wants to add a page etc, email me here mailto:callumwwf@yahoo.co.ukThanksCallum (hogesar)

Chris Meadows 0 Posted November 29, 2006 i''m not being a bully or anything but your site has a few spelling mistakes and minor html errors but well done on what you''ve created, i know how awkward and frustrating html can be. i remember a few years ago at school i created a 40page website in ICT devoted to NCFC. trying to find it again on the web but i think its expired
Tom NCFC 0 Posted November 30, 2006 I''m not sure whats happening, but I keep getting urged to use WinFixer or something like that when I go to this site. Evil Monkey 52 Posted November 30, 2006 Oh for the love of Roy, is this really necessary? What''s the point in a "Keep Hucks" website, it''s more than likely that we will anyway. Contract negotiations do not happen overnight these days, as agents are involved and are constantly trying to get just a little bit more for their client. The board would never risk losing Hucks for fear of completely losing the fans (which would happen).Contrary to popular opinion, the board are not entirely stupid (a little, but not totally) and I have firm faith that this matter will be tied up soon, along with most of the other negotiations going on right now...So any website will have turned out to be a complete waste of time...Or are we going to get a "Worthy Out" style campaign where any minor victory is said to have been the result of one website...?"Hucks has signed a new contract. This is entirely because I spent 10 minutes knocking up a website that looks like a MySpace page on acid."Sorry if this is harsh, and this is not a personal dig, Callum. I''m sure the website is just lovely. It''s just that, oh you know, I actually have work to do and reading this kind of thing at this time of morning just gets my panties in a bunch, and I''m afraid it''s not laundry day for another week soooooooo I''m gonna keep right on ranting until I finish my first cup of morning tea...Oops, finished already... ta ta [;)]

hogesar 10,762 Posted November 30, 2006 Well, going back to Tom NCFC, the only ''urge'' to download something would be from an advert (since its free to host - thats how they get their income).Second - calling me a geek/hacker is a bit...i cant use a word for it. Im fourteen years old for christ sake, sorry but i dont have a clue how to hack, and even if i did, would a huckerby website made in 10minutes because i was bored actually do any harm? Especially when you dont have to download anything.Im sure your son is on a computer course, no offence, but he''s wrong. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with my site..And 3rd of all, fair enough. I dont think it is. I saw it posted on a thread, it was half 9, i was bored stiff. So i made it. I dont expect it to make a difference.

Seriously, if you''re going to click on random links then you really should equip your PC with the software to avoid this sort of thing. But I saw nothing on there that struck me as potentially dangerous, just bloody annoying. Thats not to say it''s the case for all free hosts. hogesar 10,762 Posted November 30, 2006 No offence, im aware of con artists etc. You can get rid of the box (the cross in top right corner..or close window button). I hardly call mentioning the fact im fourteen a max of 3 times (2 if i recall) a big play.I havent made many a website, well, ive made a few. I prefer for my websites to be rated as the age i am, not as if i were an adult. I point out my age, because, im new to this community etc.I suppose i could be 47, i''ve decided to take that as a compliment to the way i structure my posts on here.Anyways....The same could be said about anyone here. Only difference with me is, i got bored and made a website. Im aware that it will say stuff like that (the box you mentioned) and for future reference, which i remind my father off every time:Aslong as you have windows XP, there will be no need to ''dive for the off switch''. Anything you download - you would have to accept, or you would be noted off it.If you have a virus software package such as Norton or Mcafee, they can be very misleading. For example, i bought microsofts rise of nations 2 game for pc, and McAfee claimed it was a PUP (potentially unwanted program). I was pretty positive that it wastn unwanted, because i just payed £20 for it.Anyway, since its the first time talking to you, and i dont know - but you may be an adult...may i take this time to apologise for the way we have come across in meeting each other... Chip20 69 Posted December 1, 2006 Hogesar, don''t pay attention to any of the Humbugs moaning about your efforts. I can appreciate the value of learning HTML (and, eventually, associated elements like CSS and Javascript). It''s a useful skill to have in your armoury because not every organisation can afford to recruit, or commission the services of, a specialist. It''s good to develop your skills using a topic that''s of interest to you because it will keep you motivated to learn more. Do take on board any constructive criticism offered, because it will help you to learn what makes a good site and show you the areas to develop. Ignore those who ask ''what''s the point'', because the point is you want to improve your skills and you are seeking feedback on your efforts so far.Keep it up. The Fish Seller 0 Posted December 1, 2006 I''d like to echo Lincoln Canaries sentiments. If more 14 year old boys were prepared to spend time furthering their education and abilities rather than congregating outside shops and underneath lamposts we''d probably all be happier about the state of this Country. Take the criticism on the chin Callum (and trust me some of it is very misplaced) and keep on going, the more you do the better you will get. Sign up for a free account with this Company http://freewebs.com/ You get plenty of space none of the nasty advertising and you can either use their online builder (which I guess you did with the Hux site) or create your own site using standard software and upload it. Lots of other features too like video etc. Good luck!

IE4? Thats a fair old while ago then?I didn''t even know about FF in those days, I must confess. It has come on leaps and bounds in the 2 years or so I''ve been using it, and admittedly it was a little quirky to begin with. The telling thing for me is the size of the installer.
