Dion Dublin for Captain!

Recommended Posts

Adam Drury is no captain, a new manager has come in so why not just make the obvious change now.  He is a voice in the dressing room and on the pitch, our best defender, a natural leader and organiser (and there have been no no-shows with him at the back).

Dion Dublin for Captain!!

And add to that Adam Drury''s game may improve without this extra (probably unwanted) responsibility.

It doesnt matter whether Dion is captain or not;  he will give the same amount of leadership whether he has an armband on or not - our problem is that not enough players show any leadership - one key attribute required of any signings in Jan.

Drury is fine as captain

[/quote]Well saidAnyone who thinks Dublin needs an armband to assert his influence on a game clearly hasn''t watched him down the years. Not saying Drury is my ideal choice as captain, but hes as good as any at the club, especially when you factor in Dublin''s age and conceed he''s unlikely to play 40+ games for the full 90 minutes at his age (hope he proves me wrong though, Dion is ace!)

lol.... I guess as others will be the ''real'' captain in the dressing room while the meek mouse Captain Drury hides in the corner.  Probably muchlike Mackay and Iwan in the championship winning season - real leaders.

Seems a joke to me that the quietest meekest player in the team with zero attributes that would make a good captain in football - well apart from perhaps chummyness with worthless.

At least give the armband to a player who may grow into the role?  Or perhaps will improve with the added responsibility rather than one who is just plain not right for it.

Meek leader....timid team. Any time this club has had success in the past, there has been a strong leader on the pitch....from Duncan Forbes through to Malky. This above all else is what Norwich need if we are to get the best out of what we have got right now....so bring on a hard case I say.

PG must recognise a number of these hard men North of the border....and if Big Dunc and Malky are anything to go by.....lets have a Jocko cracking the whip again!

which says it all about the rest of the squad doesnt it?

As for Dion.. id liek to see him as the skipper.. his organisational skills and encouragement seem to be working at the back

I have been posting for a couple of seasons that we are missing leadership - who holds the captains armband isnt important of  the team is full of leaders - the tactics are decided during the week and if things get tough on the pitch then the likes of Dion (or Malky/Iwan in times of youre) step forward whether or not the aarm band is on them or not.

We have a dire need for leadership on the pitch - the only player who can give that is either Shax or dion - and they give it unconditionally upon whether they have a piece of material on the arm or not.   This whole captain piece is a mirage - focus on the leadership potential in the squad - its virtually non existant.
