Cluck 0 Posted November 25, 2006 It would appear that those of us who dare to cut across the grain on this board have all been labelled as negative posters....thus attracting howls of derision and cries of ''traitor''. But when is so called negativity actually positivity? There are those who claim that everything is rosy in the Carrow Road garden....and that Delia and Co. are doing a splendid job. There are those who claim that we''ve never had it so good and that there are numerous good players at the club....but it''s just that we have injury problems.....or maybe that some of them aren''t performing for some reason. Some claim that with a couple of signings in January....we will suddenly become promotion candidates and everything will be fine. May I just put forward an idea that by demanding ambition from the board....we are actually being pro-active and positive.....while those saying ''don''t rock the boat'' are actually being very negative.....and choosing to stay away from risk? When there is a call for new blood in the Boardroom by the ''negatives''.....could it actually be a positive call, because we want serious action in order to bring proper investment to the transfer kitty?....and therefore some worthwhile signings. Is it not ''negative'' just to sit back and hope there will be money made available to the manager....and in the meantime trust totally in the Board to do what they have never done in 10 years at the club? It''s all very well to start ganging up to defend the status quo (not the group)....but step back and try to see that those seeking change are actually looking forward to better days.....and those over protective of the current ''prudent'' board are actually the real negatives on here? It seems that any call for something different is deemed to be a disaster....even to the point of collapse. Isn''t this negativity at it''s worst? No change means ''more of the same''.....and some of us think we deserve better. Pack on me if you wish.....for that is your prerogative....but maybe try to see past the ''blind loyalty'' to where we are coming from..........
canary cherub 1 Posted November 25, 2006 You''d probably expect me to say this, but what a good post cluck."Negative" is a word beloved of spin doctors. It was trotted out the other day by Tessa Jowell over the Olympic bid, when it began to emerge that it was going to cost more than double the original estimate. It''s the last resort of the panic-stricken.
Mello Yello 2,572 Posted November 25, 2006 "Knee jerk reaction" is another favourite of the righteous. Personally, I''m such a ''knee jerk'' reactioneer - that I''ve just joined the NCFC ''hokey cokey'' left leg and right leg in/out shake it all about - formation dancin'' team.I also recently put my regular GP in A & E at the N & N, after he was tappin'' my knee with a hammer (to see how my stimulus was responding) and, as I''ve got such an uncontrollable ''knee jerk'' reaction; I unfortunately, (by accident) caught his cheek with the buckle on my open toed sandals, which resulted in seven stitches in his cheek - and 4 cobbled stitches, to repair the buckle on my sandals........[:|]
ZLF 335 Posted November 25, 2006 Constructive criticism is as positive as you get as long as its taken in the right way. We all want the best for our club but none of have the answer - all we have is an opinion.Everything each of us post is our opinion on what is best for the club; personal attacks on others views demonstrates that they have little to back up their view point. We are all guilty of this in a more or less degree - I can see why people both love the board and despise them, with both sides opinions formed by misunderstandings, half truths, urban legends and based on very little actual fact. It is that what makes the whole love of football so good - why all know whats best without ever knowing the full facts. However we do NEED both ends of the extreme as well as a center ground - too much ambition through anarchy and the club would be bankrupt within months, too much control or prudence and we are left with more wilderness years than most want to retun to - what is best is somewhere in the middle - that balance of ambition to prudence is crucial; in my view it is currently too heavily biased in favour of prudence - that is my (equally ill informed) view. Keep on discussing - without the passion (from either side of the fence) the lack is not whatbut it is

Cluck 0 Posted November 25, 2006 Luv it Mello......[:)]It''s funny how an open ended post attracts instant ridicule and endless calls for ''proof or evidence'' from the DS worshipping ostriches......yet given a logical argument which avoids personal insult......those same ostriches don''t play ball.I notice how posts from Mystic often start very well, with reasoned debate....but within a short while the toys get thrown out of the pram and all good comment disappears. Nit-picking and personal asides slide into the frame......and a perfectly good debate disappears off the page to be replaced by the usual ''Isn''t Delia Wonderful'' diatribe.....so beloved by the herd-like ''status quoers''.If they can''t throw stones and hide....it seems many won''t play at all. Not a way to support this club in my view.....and definately not a way to see us progress beyond our present stagnant mediocrity. I''m beginning to see why we are where we are now.....and why NW was so humiliatingly hung out to dry in order to cover up the boards'' ineptitude. Although obviously ''hapless''.....maybe NW kept quiet about how the Board had reneged on various deals by putting prudence above ambition. Maybe he was effectively ''gagged'' by the Board from airing some honest facts during the WO protests.....and in return for his silence, receiving substantial compensation following his ''sacking''...... if he agreed not to go to the press. Now PG is in the same boat....attacking the players out of sheer frustration so as to avoid the facts.....and the part the Board are/are not playing behind the scenes. Why no loans.....unlike just about every club in the Championship? I hear instant calls that he is ''waiting for January'' before making any signings. Come January when little happens?....then I suppose he will be waiting until the close season after we have ''consolidated our position'' in the Championship. Spin spin and more spin! 7rew 0 Posted November 25, 2006 Pink Hippopotomus to you too, Cluckaduck. If I had to write a parody of your position I couldn''t do any better. Because of your stageringly long sentances you perpertrate every slight you complain of in the same sentance, that is a brilliant achievement. The facts are clear - the wynn-jones'' own the club, and are fans. In my view this is a much better situation to be in than chelsea/pompy/west ham/leicester, but not than villa who are owned by a very rich fan.The board didn''t pick the players worthy got in, and didn''t question him as he was in charge of the football side of things. If they had you would be complaining about them interfearing with the managers decisions. The only thing they are actually guilty of is not sacking worthy when you decided he should go. Fans pressure isn''t always a good thing - see west brom''s goalie - should the fans decide the team (in reality, rather that posts like I would play such and such etc - they are for fun), no we have professional coaching staff for that.btw - don''t think about pink Hippopotomusses.
