nik wyer 0 Posted October 16, 2006 Just wondererd what impact Grant may have on some of our players, and who`s game he could improve the most, when a new manager comes into a club, they often turn fringe players into first teamers etc, or turn one of the players into a much improved player.I would love him to give some of the younger boys a chance, i`ve got a funny feeling his knowledge of midfield, will improve Hughes game no end.your thoughts ? Syteanric 1 Posted October 16, 2006 I have a funny feeling (and watch me get panned for saying it) Ian Henderson....jas :)
Yellow Rages 0 Posted October 16, 2006 I would like to think he could improve Etuhu''s game.I think he has the potential to be a great player but just needs his abilities to be drawn out somehow.Of the players who don''t perform consistantly, he is the one who could be most dangerous if coached correctly. JW 0 Posted October 16, 2006 Ryan Jarvis needs an almighty kick up the backside to bring out what he is capable of. Maybe Grant is the man to deliver it.
Tom NCFC 0 Posted October 16, 2006 A lot of them but I think Etuhu and Croft will improve, Etuhu because isn''t that the sort of role Grant used to play and Croft because he''s young and very hungry to knowledge
Salopian 1 Posted October 16, 2006 One or all the midfield, - they''re the ones who seem to fluctuate in form most wildly.
a1canary 0 Posted October 16, 2006 This is a good point nik - just look at Martin O''Neill and HarryRedknapp. They both have an incredible ability to turn previouslyunimpressive players into unrecognisable first team regulars, and toget 100% out of players, no matter how much they thing they are giving100%. Worthington''s ability in this area, which seemed impressive inhis first years, for whatever reason, vanished the season we wererelegated. There will be some people on here who could have a lot of humble pie toeat, me included, if Grant can have the same effect on some ofthe players already mentioned in this post. Evil Monkey 52 Posted October 16, 2006 A lot of candidates for this one (great post, Nik) because a lot of players need to have things drawn out of them, talents and skills we''ve seen flashes of: Robinson, Etuhu, Croft, Hughes, the back 4, and youngsters such as Jarvis and Henderson should start to see an improvement if he can coach as well as he talks... 0ridgemanddMMyyyy0Falseen-USTrue 0 Posted October 16, 2006 If he is true to his word - and I have no reason to doubt it -there could be one or two looking for new clubs unless their work rate improves. All points to a rosier future.
GJD 0 Posted October 16, 2006 Etuhu''s has talent and at QPR played some great passes. He is improving all the time and I hope that Grant can make him the top class player he could be that our midfield is based around.
