Do You Think Nigel Is Licking His Chops?

Recommended Posts

There have got to be expectations at Sheffield Wednesday that they will push on at a better pace than currently being demonstrated. Yes, Paul Sturrock signed a new four-year deal in September but that may not count for a whole lot if things continue as they have to date at Hillsborough. 5 points out of 18 at home in the league as well as losing 4-1 at home to Wrexham in the Carling Cup.

In the background, Nigel has to be licking his chops given his background at Sheffield Wednesday and his experience at taking Norwich into the Premiership for the first time in a decade. He would have to be a strong candidate in the eyes of the Wednesday Board. We could well hear of his appointment in the not too distant future and then mark December 9th on your calendar, which is when Wednesday visit Carrow Road. Also, if this scenario does come to pass, what a state of ecstasy our away support contingent will be in if we should gain automatic promotion this season and head to Hillsborough for our last game of the season.

If he got the job it would be interesting to see if it was Worthington or the Board  who were the problem during his time at Carrow Road.

I too will be interested to see how Worthy''s career turns out, where he goes from here and if he can be successful again, like he was for a few years here. Sheffield Wednesday could look at what he achieved in his first years with us and make comparisons to where we were then and where they are now. On that basis they could well be "licking their chops" at the prospect of tempting Worthy to return to Hillsborough. The four year contract that the present manager has could be a stumbling block though, they obviously rated him after last season so I would have thought it was a bit soon to change their minds. However, a few more defeats and who knows!

Have Leeds appointed a manager yet?

He will be now. Sturrock''s just been sacked. (See BBC.co.uk)

Why on earth did they just give him a new 4 year contract last month!?! Now that''s bad management...
