BlyBlyBabes 0 Posted October 3, 2006 I doubt it.But I would welcome him if he was tempted.Had strong links to the area after leaving for Man Utd.Best centre Half never to play for England. He''s been attracted from attractive situations in the past!OTBC. Cluck 0 Posted October 3, 2006 I like Steve Bruce.....but he''s spent alot of money and doesn''t seem to be much of a motivater..........plus of course he bought Emil Heskey..........[^o)]Minus points for that I''m afraid.
a1canary 0 Posted October 4, 2006 NO WAY!! NO and DOUBLE NO!! I absolutely can not abide the man. I''m not one to hold grudges and i wouldn''t say that i genuinely hate anyone but this guy gets me close on both counts. I just can''t find it in myself to forgive him for his attitude towards us and his utter contempt for us in Cardiff, not just for any club but one that launched his career, and who, on that day had made a huge contribution to a superb match and occassion. He never once acknowledged us that day, nor again when we beat them in our final days in the premiership two seasons ago (did i love that!). I just can''t stomach his attitude and the way he conducts himself.

Unlucky Fried Kitten 0 Posted October 4, 2006 Steve Bruce? No thank you
blahblahblah 2 Posted October 4, 2006 Birminghams'' chairman is one of the richest men in the country, considers that Bruce is the right man to get them back into the Premiership, and is willing to give him whatever he needs to do it.
Bernard Futter 0 Posted October 4, 2006 No way!Sacked by Sheffield Utd and Huddersfield.Walked out (because he thought he had a better offer) on Wigan and Palace.Almost a worse managerial CV than Rioch had when he came here. (One imagines no one on the Board at the time of the interviews asked to see Rioch''s!)
a1canary 0 Posted October 4, 2006 So? I''m sure their chairman is ''considerably reecher'' than most, butjust because he has money that doesn''t mean he automatically knowseverything about football and who the best person is to get his clubpromoted. Simon Jordan has lots of money... need i say more!
whoareyou? 0 Posted October 4, 2006 Birmingham fans i have spoken too would be quite happy to see the back of him.....i think that says it all.No way do we want him here...he''s not welcome after his attitude when we turned down ManUre''s original bid for him! Alex Harvey-Jones 0 Posted October 4, 2006 I work with a guy who''s uncle is a high profile physio now with Sheffield Wednesday and used to work with Steve Bruce - he can''t stand the man and apparently used to fall out with Bruce regularly for signing players and fielding players who were not fully fit! I wouldn''t want to see Bruce at CR personally and I doubt he''ll leave Birmingham any time soon if they stay near the top of the table!
Barry Brockes 156 Posted October 4, 2006 Do we really want a man who paid a fraction more than £1 for Heskey? In fact £5,999,999 more? I don''t think so. Do we really want a man who played his own son last year when he clearly wasn''t up to the job? I don''t think so. Do we really want a man who bought Savage into his team and encouraged him to act like his name? I don''t think so. Great player when he was here but we must get away from this sentimentality. BlyBlyBabes 0 Posted October 5, 2006 Sorry I asked the question!Delia wants a winner. Steve Bruce is a winner - with Gillingham, Norwich City (promotion, league cup winner), Manchester United (Captain and winner of Premiership 3 times, FA Cup 2 times, League Cup, and European Cup winners Cup).As manager;Sheffield United - resigned after 10 months (just missed playoffs) after disagreeing with Chairman [not sacked Bernard] Huddersfield - sacked after disagreeing with Chairman and finishing 8th.Wigan - short term contract - made playoffs. Preferred to join Crystal Palace.Crystal Palace - left after disagreeing with Chairman.Birmingham - promoted 2002 in playoffs (as we well know!!), relegated 2006, currently 2nd in table.Just an idea. Never knew he was so unpopular. But then when one has gained success the hard way there will always be a few enemies left in ones'' wake, I suppose. All that said, I think my first choices would still be Mark Bowen or Dave Stringer plus Martin Hunter.OTBC.
