nutty nigel 7,902 Posted September 19, 2006 Just wondered if anyone reads the articles on this site cuz I''m surprised this one hasn''t been commented on! The guy seems to suggest that Steve Foley was relieved of his coaching duties long before it was announced!I know there are people who use this messageboard who visit the training ground and just wondered if they noticed this happening last season. The article is called "have board learned the lessons?" It''s a good article in my opinion making some relevent points but the last four paragraghs shocked me a little! I quote them here:-"Many fans have commented upon the departure of Steve Foley and the introduction of Martin Hunter as a major catalyst in the rejuvenation of our team.Hunter, without question, has been superb, but to compare this season with last season under Steve Foley''s coaching is laughable.Foley''s footballing philosophy was pass and move, something he encouraged and demonstrated with great passion and enthusiasm.Perhaps the disasters of last season should be blamed on those that seemingly demoted him to the position of training ground ball-boy whilst others coached the first team." ZLF 335 Posted September 19, 2006 Dont know whether its fact or fiction but there were reports/rumours on this and other boards that he had been usurped by Keith Webb at Colney during deep winter and marginalised. Whether anyone who knows for sure is willing to say is another matter. I think Steve also missed the start of the season while recovering from injury.
