sheded 0 Posted September 24, 2006 I know this will result in flak , and name calling .... but I`ll press on regardless !! The teams performances DID dip dramatically when Hucks dropped out injured , this also includes the match against Coventry , where Hucks was carrying the injury . Whichever way you cut it , the fact remains , that a Huckless team , is a team with its heart removed ! As for the Nigel pogrom now in progress , whatever happened to Hunter ? was he not mooted as the key facter in the revival of the teams fortunes , prior to Hucks injury ? There IS a severe lack of character in the team ! I wont pinpoint the chief culprits , they know who they are ! I`m talking about part-timers , the players who don`t give it 100% match after match ..... who turn it on as , and when , THEY feel like it ! they should be ashamed to draw their wages , although the management has to carry the can when it goes tits up , the fact remains that its the TEAM who lose matches ! for crissake they are grown men , they KNOW whats required of them , yesterday , some of them played like they had been clubbing it into the small hours ! ..... a demoralised rabble , Plymouth scented the fear , and were all over us .... not a pretty sight [:(]
canary cherub 1 Posted September 24, 2006 I tend to agree Sheded. Can you think of a good reason why they haven''t offered Hucks another contract? I can''t. It tells us all we need to know about the people who run our club.I''ve been a City fan since ''59. We''ll never be Liverpool or Man U, but one thing we''ve always done is punch above our weight. We''ve never settled for the comfort zone and we''re not going to start now.
Syteanric 1 Posted September 24, 2006 a new manager might press for a new contract, or he might deem hucks surplus to requirements, who knows. Suffice to say i dont think hucks would sign a new deal, i have a feeling he is calling it a day in May. the Club should address the issue, whatever it may be, If hucks is retiring then lets have an announcement, if Hucks no longer features in NCFc''s plans lets hear it, if a new contract is forthcoming then get on with it before he does a Bosman!jas :)
Marty 0 Posted September 24, 2006 i''m not so sure, we should have enough talent in our team to pick up pointsin Huckerby''s absence. Maybe it is the mentality of the rest of the team that is the problem?
E I E I E I O 0 Posted September 24, 2006 The great Hucks has a couple of seasons left in him yet at least! The fact that he hasnt been offered a contract is a disgrace!!!!!Yet more short comings from an inept manager!

The Norwich manager (whoever he happens to be) has no involvement in contract negotiations. He just identifies who he wants. Neil D said so last week when he was explaining why City are in the clear regarding bungs. That reminds me, Steve Howard scored the winner for Derby yesterday - 4 in 4 games now. FilletTheFishWife . 0 Posted September 24, 2006 Not quite - as we''d be in the same position without Earnie too.No Hucks = No Hope.Without Hucks we would not have been promoted 2 years ago either.Due to the boards incompetence and and total lack of ambition in the transfer market we are reliant on 2 players to make the difference and if this goes on, we''ll have neither for next season.Doncaster & co can whinge all they like about over-priced players but we happily got over the odds for Ashton, Green & McKenzie. One year in the premiership, 2 years of parachute payments and a windfall from the above sales and we should be grateful for Dublin.Prudence with ambition my backside. We have no ambition other than to be a medicocre Championship side. The fans have been taken for a ride. In hope and expectation we splash out on season tickets and wait for the signings to come......and wait ....and wait.....If the board have no faith in Worthy they should sack him now not just dither while another season peters out into another disappointment. Dionysus 0 Posted September 24, 2006 I think it''s more a case of the 451/433 system doesn''t work as well without Hucks in the team because McVeigh is a completely different type of player. Not that I was a great fan of the 451/433 system. Our passing improved because there were more men in the middle of the pitch, hence more options of shorter passes for our ''keeper and back four. However, better passing seems to have come at the expense of goal-scoring opportunities.

As for Hucks contract , your guess is as good as mine ! it just might be that he`s been offered a new contract , but he`s wanting to wait to the seasons end ... see how he feels about it then ?
