Hucka Hucka Huckerby 0 Posted September 6, 2006 I’ve been toying with the idea of changing my username now that McKenzie has left for pastures new, but I’m not sure whether to do it or not. I feel a little let down by him in the twilight of his Norwich career. However, that doesn’t change the fact he scored 2 goals against the binners to put us ‘top of the league at Portman Road’ in our title winning season! Ramrod has already suggested I change my name to something like ''McKenzie''s acrimonious departure?'' Anyone got any ideas for a new username???

lucky green trainers 0 Posted September 6, 2006 the day after mckenzie scored, i got a city shirt and put his name across the back. although i''d preordered the latest home shirt, XL was way too tight for my figure and so i had to wait until last week to get an xxl - this time, a day after he left. the moral of the storey is that life is a collection of births and deaths, and then re-births. Hucka Hucka Huckerby 0 Posted September 7, 2006 I like the idea of Bruce’s Header, as it relates to beating Ipswich on the way to winning a trophy, the same as McKenzie’s Debut does. However, I can’t find that famous picture online of Bruce running away from goal, with his hand in the air after scoring the goal. Can anyone help me find one? Evil Monkey 52 Posted September 7, 2006 On a slightly related topic, I was also thinking of changing my ownback to Evil Monkey. I changed it earlier this year, partlybecause I''d been reading lots of Pratchett, and partly because the nameseemed apt. But I think it''s a little too negative in these morepositive times, and feel I should probably revert to my previous andmuch-loved (by me) username.

Hucka Hucka Huckerby 0 Posted September 7, 2006 I can''t remeber his debut own goal... So I''ve gone with Bruce''s Header & the new the new picture. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. What an awesome memory knocking Ipswich out of the semi final of the league cup is. We were destined to win the final after that result!! Were any of you there that day? (At the semi)
Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 1,222 Posted September 7, 2006 I was at both legs of the semi and at the final. What a night the 2-0 win was, the surge from the celebrations of the crowd took me from the top of the terracing, down to the bottom and back up again (or so it seemed!!) Hucka Hucka Huckerby 0 Posted September 7, 2006 I wasn''t at the final. My dad asked me if I wanted to go & I said yes (obviously) but my mum intervened & said I wasn''t allowed... I was only 8 at the time though!

[/quote]There has never been a more perfect sporting moment than watching Steve Bruce put that header away in the 87th minute, to put us in the final, beating Ipswich in the process, I''ve even spoken to Ipswich fans who followed their team from that game on, it really captured the imagination of the region. The final was dire though, and Wembley was a concrete monolith that needed knocking down even in 1985. Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 1,222 Posted September 7, 2006 Blah x 3 - You are so right about Wembley, for me that was a real downer, it was my first trip there and I could not believe what a toilet it was.
