Jerzy Krukowski 5 Posted September 6, 2006 When is Archant going to make a decision (and publicise it) aboutchanging the posting routine here? Last thing mentioned was they werelooking into it, how long does that take?!
Web Team - Celia Sutton 0 Posted September 6, 2006 It was decided, then it was ''undecided'' - and it''s now in a legal black hole with the lawyers...
Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted September 6, 2006 SPat, why do you have an avater which looks like some navvy getting caught by surprise whilst spanking his monkey?
Jerzy Krukowski 5 Posted September 7, 2006 hmm, the legal issues can''t be that problematic can they? As for my avatar, it''s a painting by Peter Hewson. ha ha, I ''d never seen it quite like that RH, but you''re right, thanks ;-)
Evil Monkey 52 Posted September 7, 2006 The question is, Rudolph, is it your monkey he''s spanking?Anyway, what''s all this about changing the posting and legal wranglings, etc. What have I missed?
Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted September 7, 2006 No one spanks my monkey except me and even I don''t do it as much as I used to.By the way Evil Monkey I had you down more as a Nobby Nobbs. You can call me Commander Vimes.

Fat Barman 0 Posted September 8, 2006 In answer to Evil Monkey''s question - I think this harks back to the debate on having some respected posters acting as moderators, combined with a proposed change by Archant as to how these forums are run.The idea was that we would lose the time lag caused by poor old mods having to eat/sleep/have lives - leading to delays in messages making the long journey from keyboard to screen - and make posting less frustrating (you know, like when your pithy comment from 7am doesn''t make it on the board until 12.39, by which time it just looks sad and dated - well, mine do anyhow!)Apparently Archant have some concerns about legal liability for the content on the message boards that they host. This has meant that they only allow in-house moderation. The changes have therefore been shelved(?) whilst they try to decide what to do.Apologies if I''ve made this sound complicated, or just got it plain wrong!
