"The voice of the Thorpe Area!"]Surely even with a 2nd string side out, we should still win?

are you kidding, we normally lose with a full strength squad!

I have to agree with Kathy that I''d like us to put a decent side out to progress and have a decent cup run. I''m not going to Torquay but I''ll feel sorry for the travelling fans if they have to fork out to see a mainly reserve team.

I  love the magic of the cup and the cash will come in handy too.

I''m sure the club''s expenses will far outweight any profits we make on this pointless game.

Well I''m off in a minute travelling 350 miles to watch this pointless game. I can see I will be taking your best wishes with me and I am sure you will all be glued to your radios tomorrow night.

Oh and just to confirm in your minds that I do need therapy, I went last time as well.

Hey Marty!  Talking of second strings.... I reckon another one''s needed on the ''model'' in your picture - for the sake of public decency!

Has anyone seen tomorrow''s weather forecast . . .? It''s going to piss down all day in Torquay.  Should stop by the evening, but by then the pitch could be under six inches of water.

How cheerful am I.  And yes, I''m still going to the game!

If we lose Saint, I for one, would be quite relieved. Allthough if you check the link, someone else wouldn''t be gutted either:

Precisely right, SC.  I''ve seen us go out of this and other

competitions with pathetic results too many times to get upset about it

now.  At the end of the day, we''re not going to win it, it''s just

a poor man''s FA Cup.

The League Cup has never had the glamour or excitement of the FA Cup,

and is only ever taken seriously by teams who are unlikely to win other

trophies that season - or Chelsea, going for all 4.

I just think that, without the Prem clubs, it would add a little more

excitement to it for the lower league clubs and offer something worth

playing for.  As it is, there''s nowt and I couldn''t care less if

we lose (in the next round, to a bigger club, preferably, just to save

face).

Many have made comments about the FA Cup and the Prem, and what''s the

point in us playing in them? Well, the FA Cup just has something about

it, some magic.  No one can describe it, but it inspires millions

each year - last season''s final was fantastic, if only because the

underdogs put up such a brave fight.

And no, we''re not going to win the Premiership any time soon.  But

we have to take it one step at a time.  It could be 20 years, if

we''re lucky, before Norwich are in a position to challenge for he

title, or even the FA Cup.  But it''s something to aspire to,

long-term.  That''s why we bother.

And can I just mention that when we were in the UEFA Cup we had

finished 3rd in the league the previous season, so a little different

from being in the Fizzy League right now.  Plus it was over ten

years ago.

I admire all those going down to Torquay tonight, we need our

travelling support.  I just think that, if you''re expecting a

cracking game and a full first team out there tonight, then you''re

kidding yourselves.

mmmmm, not sure how to take that since it''s my girlfriend! anyway, it''s in my garden, nothing public about that (unless you are my neighbour). Just thought i''d spice my profile up somewhat, I think there is room for more Canary totty on here.

The leagues below us have their own cups games and such (FA Trophy and such) that they can enjoy so why can''t we middle teams have something that we can honestly have a good shot of winning?

Isn''t the whole point of cup competition that the little clubs with not a lot of glamour or success coming their way (Torquay for instance) get to host a game against a big club full of well-known players - I hesitate to call the Doc glamorous - recently playing in the Premiership (Norwich for instance)?

I hope we do well  and win in Torquay whoever is playing: it must be embarrassing today to be a Coventry, Palace or Ip---ch supporter!

Cheers to Kathy and all the other supporters who have gone to cheer on City tonight.............
