No Leon at training today

Recommended Posts

Its been reported on two other web sites that his head wasn''t right, another one said he came in dressed as a mushroom as he wanted to be a fun guy in the future but Worthy thought he was a toadstool and thought he''d poison the squad so he sent him home.

I will be sad if we do lose Leon, as i like his all action 100% style, i know he often runs with his head down and his touch and vision certainly needs working on, but  if this is true, and he is having talks with another team, Worthy must be feeling pretty confident of signing a replacement striker.

Adams still keen on McKenzie swoop Aug 31 2006

By Andy Turner

MICKY Adams was today finally expected to get his man by signing battling striker Leon McKenzie from Championship rivals Norwich City.

The Coventry City boss has been chasing the 28-year-old for a number of weeks and previously had three offers for him refused by the Canaries, the last being for £800,000, who insisted they would not sell unless the Sky Blues met their £1 million valuation.

McKenzie, an out and out striker with reasonable pace and an outstanding work ethic, slapped in a transfer request at Carrow Road earlier this month, much to the annoyance of manager Nigel Worthington, after Norwich changed their system to 4-5-1 with Robert Earnshaw the lone front man.

Adams, who has confirmed his interest in Lillestrom''s Maltese forward Michael Mifsud, was still working on making another signing ahead of tonight''s midnight deadline.

McKenzie, who started his career as a trainee at Crystal Palace, made a name for himself at Peterborough United where he scored 46 goals in 90 games, although he has not reached double figures for a season in his two and a half seasons at Norwich, although he did score seven in the Premiership.
