Indy_Bones 444 Posted July 30, 2006
In the long run getting beat untillWorthington is sacked is by far the best thing for the club.
Absolute nonsense.Since Worthy was appointed we have steadily performed. When he tookover we went from finishing 15th to 6th the season after, losing toBrum in the playoff final. The season after that disappointment, we finished 8th, which infairness did need to be better, but we were only 5 points behind theplayoff places, so hardly a disaster. We then won the Championship in what was arguably the most convincing fashion seen in over a decade.Staying up was always going to be a problem, but I at least respectedWorthy''s desire to try to pass the ball around, even against hugeopponents such as Chelsea and Arsenal, in fact considering we beat ManUtd 2-0, only just losing the first game despite being the better team,i don''t think he had too bad a run at it, and clearly Worthy saw wherewe needed a big improvement, and signed Ashton, a great player who noother Prem manager was willing to give a chance to, now he''s beingtouted around everywhere.Last season was the worst i''ve seen in ages, and some of that has tofall at the manager''s feet, but we''ve now got a new coach in, a newright winger, players like Safri returning from injury and I do thinkEtuhu will come good, so how about we give the guy a fair chance thisseason? If it ends up like last season by the midway point, I can understandmore the desire to have a change, but give him the time in these firstfew months, that I genuinely think he has earnt from us. There are loads of people who feel the same about Worthy but I''m so sick of hearing this kind of post. He''s in charge whether we like it or not so lets get behind the team and hope we can get promoted. What''s the alternative?? Keep moaning about worthy and make promotion even less likely! If you don''t care if we lose go and support someone else- we''re better off without that kind of support!
