It''s not the fact that £5.5 Mill is a lot of money for a player who isn''t overly amazing, it just this move has a lot of Worthington hall marks around it:

1, Better Scouting would have got you better value for money!

2, Expensive englishman, whereas a foriegn player would have been cheaper

3, Overated and under performs

4, Why buy a striker from a relegated club, Birmingham couldn''t get goals last year, I wonder why?

Jewell quite obviously believes in his own ability as a manager to get the best out of Heskey.  I''ll admit that I am not his biggest fan but when he is on form and confident he is real handful.  You give him the right strike partner and get him playing well and he is easily Premiership quality.  He did a lot for Owen when they played together.
