YankeeCanary 0 Posted May 24, 2006 I confess to having tired in recent seasons of our "little" club pointing to the "Charlton Model" as our path for the future, then watching in disappointment as we clearly employed an approach that fell short of a club with a sincere desire to get to and sustain Premiership football. In any event, I was never particularly confident that Charlton would stay the course. Now, with Alan Curbishley having departed the scene and at least a couple of Championship managers appearing to snub a serious consideration of the managers job at Charlton, it may signal that Charlton''s intentions of financially sustaining Premiership football is on the wane. Perhaps their club can now look to the "Norwich Model" of how to consolidate Championship football for the forseeable future. If this turns out to be the case at least we can take some small satisfaction in being a model for Charlton rather than the other way around.
